The present study aimed to investigate whether 17β‑estradiol (E2) exerts protective effects on bone deterioration induced by ovariectomy (OVX) through the ephA2/ephrinA2 signaling pathway in rats. Female rats were subjected to OVX, sham surgeryor OVX+E2 treatment. Levels of biomarkers were measured in serum and urine.

Associations of maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index and gestational weight gain with birth outcomes in Shanghai, China.

Recent data suggests that abnormal maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) or gestational weight gain (GWG) is associated with unfavorable delivery outcomes. However, limited clinical evidence is available to support this correlation in China. Participating 510 mother-infant pairs were recruited from the Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital, China, between January 1 and 30 2016.

Clinical observation of Shuanghuang Shengbai Granule () on prevention and treatment of myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients.

Objective: To study the efficacy and safety of Shuanghuang Shengbai Granule (, SSG), a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on myelosuppression of cancer patients caused by chemotherapy.

Methods: A total of 330 patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (220 cases, analysed 209 cases) and the control group (110 cases, analysed 102 cases) with a 2:1 ratio by envelope method. The patients in the treatment group at the first day of chemotherapy started to take SSG for 14 days, while the patients in the control group took Leucogon Tablets.

Effects of Shaoyao-Gancao Decoction on Infarcted Cerebral Cortical Neurons: Suppression of the Inflammatory Response following Cerebral Ischemia-Reperfusion in a Rat Model.

The mechanisms by which Shaoyao-Gancao decoction (SGD) inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines in serum and brain tissue after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (CI-RP) in rats were investigated. A right middle cerebral artery occlusion was used to induce CI-RP after which the rats were divided into model (n = 39), SGD (n = 28), clopidogrel (n = 25) and sham operated (n = 34) groups. The Bederson scale was used to evaluate changes in behavioral indices.

Background And Objectives: Renal relapse is a very common manifestation of IgA nephropathy (IgAN). The clinical characteristics and long-term outcomes of this condition have not yet been carefully explored.

Design And Patients: Patients with biopsy-proven IgAN between January 2005 and December 2010 from three medical centers in China was a primary cohort of patients.

Purpose: The purpose of the present investigation was to locate the instantaneous rotation center of the mandible during maxillary surgical impaction, and explore the relationship between automatic rotation center of the mandible and maxillary elevation amount, the length of the mandible and mandibular plane angle.

Methods: Twenty-five patients who underwent maxillary Le Fort I impaction without concomitant major mandibular ramus split osteotomies were included. The preoperative and postoperative lateral cephalograms were used to evaluate the surgical changes and locate the mandibular autorotation center with Reuleaux method.

Domestic mite species like Dermatophagoides farinae induce allergies in people worldwide. Here, the cDNA coding for group 21 allergen of Dermatophagoides farinae (Hughes; Acari: Pyroglyphidae) from China was cloned, sequenced, and expressed in E. coli to aid in the development of diagnostic and treatment options for domestic mite hypersensitivity.

Prognostic value of matrix metalloprotease-1/protease-activated receptor-1 axis in patients with prostate cancer.

The aim of this study was to investigate the associations of matrix metalloprotease-1 (MMP-1) and its receptor protease-activated receptor-1 (PAR-1) coexpression with the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of patients with prostate cancer (PCa). Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression changes of MMP-1 and PAR-1 proteins in 180 pairs of human PCa tissues and matched non-cancerous prostate tissues. Then, the associations of combined MMP-1 and PAR-1 expression with selected clinicopathological characteristics and patient prognosis were evaluated.

Methods: Ninety early-middle stage CRI patients of PSYDS were recruited and randomly assigned to the treated group (60 cases) and the control group (30 cases) in the ratio of 2:1. All patients received conventional and symptomatic treatment, but those in the treated group received WHR additionally.

Background: Tumor markers are widely used in clinical practice and have become important indicators in assessing cancer progress. There is increasing concern that chemotherapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine has effects in decreasing the level of tumor markers.

Objective: To investigate the effects of chemotherapy combined with Kangliu Zengxiao Decoction (KLZX), a compound Chinese herbal drug, on tumor markers carbohydrate antigen 50 (CA 50), cytokeratin 19 fragment (CYFRA21-1) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and to explore the relationships between clinical efficacy and tumor markers.

[Establishment of a dog model of orthodontic tooth moving into newly distracted bone].

Purpose: This study was to establish an animal model of tooth moving into newly distracted bone after mandibular distraction osteogenesis in Beagle dog.

Methods: Eight Beagle dogs were selected in this study four dogs (experiment group) underwent 10 mm of bilateral mandibular distraction osteogenesis. After 0-week consolidation periods, the bilateral third premolars were moved distally into the regenerated bone with 150g orthodontic force for 8 weeks.

[Effects of Astragalous Injection on oxidative stress status in maintenance hemodialysis patients].

Objective: To analyze the effects of Astragalous Injection on oxidative stress and micro-inflammatory status in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).

Methods: Sixty MHD patients were included and randomized into treatment group and control group, with another 10 healthy volunteers as normal control. The patients in the treatment group were treated with Astragalous Injection and the patients in the control group were treated with normal saline for 12 weeks.

[Clinical analysis of diplopia in 68 cases with orbital fractures].

Purpose: To explore the cause of orbital fracture associated with diplopia by summarizing 68 cases,in order to offer reference for clinical treatment.

Methods: 68 cases of orbital fracture associated with diplopia were examined by maxillofacial surgeon and oculist,by analyzing the CT and X-ray films of whom to make clear the reasons of diplopia.

Results: Of the 68 cases,male was more than female,vertical diplopia was dominant,and generally with the changes of the orbital structure.
