This paper investigated the interaction between leptosidin, an aurone-based derivative and a subset of the flavone family, and transferrin using a variety of spectroscopic, molecular docking, and molecular dynamic investigations. The anticancer mechanism of leptosidin and transferrin-leptosidin complex against colorectal cancer cells was then assessed. It was demonstrated that the addition of leptosidin resulted in a significant quenching of transferrin's fluorescence intensity and a redshift of 8 nm.

Numerous studies have reported that long-term sports training can affect inhibitory control and induce brain functional alterations. However, the influence of environmental dynamics in sports training on inter-cortical connectivity has not been well studied. In the current study, we used twin-coil transcranial magnetic stimulation to investigate the functional connectivity between dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and ipsilateral primary motor cortex (M1) during proactive and reactive inhibition in participants with sports skills in dynamic environment (open-skill experts), stable environment (closed-skill experts), and no sports skills (controls).

Background: Ischemic stroke is the leading cause of death and long-term disability worldwide. After stroke, microglia exhibit not only pro-inflammatory phenotype to aggravate the neuroinflammation, but also anti-inflammatory phenotype to play a neuroprotective role. Studies on the spatial and temporal changes in microglia and the underlying mechanisms help to elucidate the inflammatory cascade after stroke.

Objective: The study is aimed at analyzing the predictive value of serum Ig A, Ig G, and TNF- in the recurrence of multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: 136 patients with MM treated in our hospital from January 2010 to January 2017 were followed up for 5 years. Finally, 100 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria and had the complete follow-up visit were selected as the study subjects, with the recurrence of MM as endpoint event, and the observation was taken until the occurrence of endpoint event in patients or the termination of this study.

Background: Danshao Shugan Granules (DSSG), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), is given to protect the liver. The objective is to evaluate the mechanisms of the effects of DSSG on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
Methods: 260 patients with NAFLD were randomly allocated to positive control drugs rosiglitazone (n = 30) and Silibinin (n = 50) as well as DSSG (n = 130) and combined DSSG/Silibinin (n = 50) groups, from which 90 patients in the DSSG group were further subdivided into 3 groups (n = 30, each) depending on the severity of symptoms.
