Purpose: Conventional orthognathic osteotomies provide appropriate functional outcomes but might be unable to correct midface deficiency, achieve a satisfactory outcome in asymmetrical cases, or allow sufficient chin advancement. We evaluated the outcome of both standard and customized facial high-density porous polyethylene implants used to refine the cosmetic outcome of orthognathic surgery.
Patients And Methods: We implemented a retrospective study.

Introduction: There is some evidence that audiovisual formats can be an effective way of providing information about early medical abortion (EMA). A short animation (3 minutes) was developed about EMA in three languages that summarized the EMA process for use in the UK, France and Sweden.
Material And Methods: We conducted a multicenter randomized controlled trial to compare information on EMA delivered by an animated film vs a face-to-face consultation.

Aims: To elucidate the diagnostic value of sarcoplasmic expression of myxovirus resistance protein A (MxA) for dermatomyositis (DM) specifically analysing different DM subforms, and to test the superiority of MxA to other markers.
Methods: Immunohistochemistry for MxA and retinoic acid-inducible gene I (RIG-I) was performed on skeletal muscle samples and compared with the item presence of perifascicular atrophy (PFA) in 57 DM patients with anti-Mi-2 (n = 6), -transcription intermediary factor 1 gamma (n = 10), -nuclear matrix protein 2 (n = 13), -melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 (MDA5) (n = 10) or -small ubiquitin-like modifier activating enzyme (n = 1) autoantibodies and with no detectable autoantibody (n = 17). Among the patients, nine suffered from cancer and 22 were juvenile-onset type.

Flavone-8-acetic acid (FAA) has been proved to be a potent vascular-disrupting agent in mice. Unfortunately, FAA did not produce any anticancer activity in clinical trials. Previously, we had reported that FAA is metabolized by mouse microsomes into six metabolites, whereas it was poorly metabolized by human microsomes, with fewer metabolites formed in lesser amounts.
