Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated changes in European healthcare systems, with a significant proportion of COVID-19 cases being managed on an outpatient basis in primary healthcare (PHC). To alleviate the burden on healthcare facilities, many European countries developed contact-tracing apps and symptom checkers to identify potential cases. As the pandemic evolved, the European Union introduced the Digital COVID-19 Certificate for travel, which relies on vaccination, recent recovery, or negative test results.

An impacted third molar is one of the most common abnormalities of the tooth position, impacting patients and their quality of life. Based on the impact and the invasive removal procedure, this study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of impacted third molars based on their radiographic features as well as their association with demographic characteristics. Outpatient dental records of the oral and maxillofacial surgery department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia, from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2019, were sorted, and relevant clinical and demographic data and panoramic radiographic examination results were extracted from these records.

Purpose: Our purpose was to evaluate the prognostic value of Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) in bladder cancer (BCa) staging and predicting recurrence or progression.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the prospectively collected data from 96 patients with bladder tumors who underwent VI-RADS-based multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) before endourological treatment from April 2021 to December 2022. Diagnostic performance was evaluated by comparing mpMRI reports with final pathology, using logistic regression for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) predictors.

Purpose: To assess the role of dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to local anesthetics (LA) in enhancing the duration and quality of peribulbar blocks for ophthalmic surgeries.
Design: Systematic review with meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis.
Methods: We systematically searched MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane for randomized controlled trials involving adult patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery under peribulbar block, comparing LA alone vs LA + dexmedetomidine.

This editorial article takes an opportunity to apprehend the diagnostic challenges of primary gastrointestinal tuberculosis (an uncommon extrapulmonary tuberculosis condition) utilizing the recently published case report of a young male with prolonged gastrointestinal symptoms and weight loss who received intermittent anti-tubercular treatment and underwent operative interventions to relieve gastric outlet obstruction. The diagnosis chiefly relied on high-end examinations, like computed tomography scans and histopathological evaluation of post-operatively resected bowel tissue, which wasn't preceded by an all-inclusive stepwise primary pulmonary tuberculosis exclusion approach that usually begins with a detailed tuberculosis-pertinent history acquisition. Given the geographic locations where the patient had been (and/or treated), pivotal consideration of tuberculosis-associated endemicities in those regions, like human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, might have improved the case description.

Cardiac amyloidosis (CA) involves the abnormal deposition and accumulation of amyloid proteins in the heart muscle. A hallmark of disease progression is declining heart function, which can lead to structural irregularities, arrhythmias, and ultimately heart failure. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia that presents in CA patients, and this arrhythmia is significant because it can moderately increase the risk of patients developing intracardiac thrombi, thereby putting them at risk for thromboembolic events.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of sonothrombolysis delivered pre and post primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) on infarct size assessed by cardiac MRI, in patients presenting with STEMI, when compared against sham procedure.
Background: More than a half of patients with successful pPCI have significant microvascular obstruction and residual infarction. Sonothrombolysis is a therapeutic use of ultrasound with contrast enhancement that may improve microcirculation and infarct size.

Varicose veins (VVs) are the most common manifestation of chronic venous disease (CVD) and appear as abnormally enlarged and tortuous superficial veins. VVs result from functional abnormalities in the venous circulation of the lower extremities, such as venous hypertension, venous valve incompetence, and venous reflux. Previous studies indicate that enhanced angiogenesis and inflammation contribute to the progression and onset of VVs; however, dysregulations in signaling pathways associated with these processes in VVs patients are poorly understood.

Methods: The study was conducted in a descriptive cross-sectional design.
Short-term exposure to air pollutants may contribute to an increased risk of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). This study assessed the role of short-term exposure to fine particulate matter (PM) as well as fine and coarse PM (PM) air pollution in ACS events and the effect of blood groups on this phenomenon. A retrospectively collected database of 9026 patients was evaluated.

Beta 2 glycoprotein I (β2GPI) is the major autoantigen in the antiphospholipid syndrome, an autoimmune disorder characterized by thrombotic and obstetric complications. The autoantibodies that target beta 2 glycoprotein I are pathogenic and contribute to disease pathogenesis. The β2GPI molecule is composed of 5 domains that are numbered 1 through to 5.

Ambiguous melanocytic lesions/tumors (AMLs) can be simply described as melanocytic neoplasms that cannot be differentiated as either a melanoma or a nevus. Preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma (PRAME) is a novel antibody that can help differentiate between nevi and melanomas. However, its usefulness remains controversial in AMLs.
