Validation of the Hindi version of the early childhood oral health impact scale among 3-5-year-old preschool children in Rohtak city, Haryana.

Background: The early childhood oral health impact scale (ECOHIS) has been developed for assessing oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in the preschool children and translated and validated in different languages to conform to their cultures. This tool has not been validated in Hindi for use among Indian preschool children till now. Hence, the present study was undertaken to assess the validity of the Hindi version of the ECOHIS among 3-5-year-old preschool children in Rohtak city, Haryana.

We therefore aimed to evaluate the role of two different modes of CRRT- CVVHDF and CAVHDF in patients of hepatic failure and / or hepatorenal syndrome in reducing hyperbilirubinemia, uremia and fluid overload.

Background: Chemical peels have become a popular modality in the treatment of acne vulgaris (AV). Mandelic acid (MA) is a new emerging peeling agent for AV owing to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Hence, it is worthwhile to evaluate the effectiveness and safety profile of this newer agent and to compare it with an older established peeling agent, salicylic acid (SA) in the treatment of AV.

Background: Oral exfoliative cytology is a noninvasive and nonpainful technique for early diagnosis of oral potentially malignant disorders and oral cancer, and the use of cytomorphometry ameliorates its diagnostic reliability. The objective of the present study was to analyze methyl green-pyronin Y (MGP)-stained oral exfoliated cells (OECs) of oral leukoplakia (OL) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) by cytomorphometry.

Materials And Method: An observational study was conducted on 150 individuals equally divided into three groups: normal mucosa, OL, and OSCC.

Background: Protein-energy wasting (PEW) is common in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Malnutrition-Inflammation Score (MIS) has significant correlations with prospective hospitalization and mortality, as well as measures of anemia, inflammation, and nutrition in dialysis patients.

Material And Methods: The study was conducted on 100 adult patients of CKD selected from K&D clinic PGIMS, Rohtak.

Effectiveness of oral health education on oral hygiene status among schizophrenic patients: A randomized controlled study.

Aim: The study aims to assess the effectiveness of oral health education on oral hygiene status among schizophrenic patients.

Methods And Results: A randomized parallel controlled trial was conducted among schizophrenic patients (n = 111) with BPR score of ≤ 48 to assess the role of oral health education on their oral hygiene status. The experimental group (n = 56) received oral health education while the control group (n = 55) were administered standard care advice.

Potential immmunohistochemical markers to characterize epithelial-mesenchymal transition in pleomorphic adenoma.

Backgound: The histogenesis process of pleomorphic adenoma (PA) of salivary gland continues to remain a controversial subject. In this neoplasm, transition occurs from an epithelial or myoepithelial cell to a stromal element and is called an epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) resulting in heterogeneity. The present research was aimed to study the morphological characteristics of varied components and epithelial-mesenchymal transitions in PA using histopathological and immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis.

Prevalence and Clinical Correlates of Microalbuminuria in Patients with Essential Hypertension - A Tertiary Care Center Cross Sectional Study.

Introduction: Albuminuria is predictor of target organ damage and worse cardiovascular outcomes. Microalbuminuria has been found in a large number of patients with essential hypertension. Aim of our study was to evaluate the frequency of microalbuminuria in essential hypertension and to study its correlation with severity of hypertension and target organ damage.

A mismatch of tumor grade and biologic behaviour in a rare case of Sclerosing Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of Parotid - with review of literature.

Although mucoepidermoid carcinoma is the most common primary malignancy of the salivary glands, the sclerosing morphologic variant of this tumor is extremely rare and only 26 cases have been reported till date in the english literature. This report describes a case involving a 35-year-old female with an intermediate-grade sclerosing mucoepidermoid carcinoma of parotid gland and we review the litreture. Immunohitochemical markers, Her-2/neu and MIB-1 evaluated to help predict the clinical outcome and to determine whether an association exists between the histologic grade and immunohistochemical findings.

A Comparative Evaluation of Closed and Open Treatment in the Management of Unilateral Displaced Mandibular Subcondylar Fractures: A Prospective Randomized Study.

The aim of the study is to evaluate closed and open treatment in the management of unilateral displaced mandibular subcondylar fractures. Twenty patients with unilateral subcondylar fractures of the mandible were evaluated with degree of displacement of more than 20 degrees and ramal height shortening of more than 10 mm. They were informed of the need for 6-month follow-up.
