Fortification of expressed breast milk (EBM) is widely recommended for preterm feeding. Fortification of EBM results in increased caloric density and osmolarity, both of which may retard gastric emptying. As gastric emptying is a major determinant of feed tolerance, we investigated the effect of fortification (with Lactodex HMF) of EBM on gastric emptying in preterm neonates.

Lymphadenopathy is one of the leading and persistent signs during the progression of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Lymphadenopathy, as a clinical sign, can become one of the important guiding tools for detecting hidden HIV-positive cases. The present study was conducted to assess the incidence of HIV positivity in previously undiagnosed patients of HIV presenting with lymphadenopathy, comparing it with the current trends of HIV infection in the community, and to ascertain the etiology of lymphadenopathy in HIV-positive and HIV-negative cases.

Background And Purpose: Field placement for Radiation Treatment Planning can be done based on the surface markings or simulator fluoroscopy or simulator with CT facilities. A prospective study was carried out to compare these three techniques of radiation treatment planning to quantitatively find out the difference in normal tissue dosages and target volume coverage in the three groups after three-dimensional evaluation.
Patients And Methods: The CT scans of 30 patients in the treatment position, taken on a Shimadzu SCT-3000 TF scanner at 1cm intervals, were transferred to Theraplan-500 three-dimensional radiation treatment planning computer.

A technique is described to fashion a partially de-epithelialized preputial flap, also called triangular soft tissue flap (TSTF), to cover the neourethra in the region of glans, corona and subcorona. This highly vascular TSTF acted as a mechanical barrier against coronal fistula formation in 16 subcoronal hypospadiacs aged 3-12 years who underwent Snodgrass tubularized incised plate urethroplasty. None had complications at 1-year of follow-up.
