The ageing process brings changes in facial appearance, which if more pronounced lead to unacceptable facial aesthetics. A common means of restoring the support of ageing-induced sunken cheeks is the use of cheek plumper.

Background And Aims: In the present study, we hypothesised that the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) Protector would provide higher oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP) than LMA ProSeal. Thus, we planned this study to compare the clinical performance of LMA Protector and LMA ProSeal in terms of OLP as a primary objective and insertion characteristics as secondary objectives.
Methods: Ninety patients of either gender, aged 18-70 years, were randomised into groups PS (LMA ProSeal) and (LMA Protector).

Retrosternal goitre (RSG) is a thyroid gland with more than 50% of its mass located below the thoracic inlet. Pre-operative Computed Tomography can visualise the anatomical relations between the RSG and each mediastinal component, and the level of extension. Most cases of RSG can be resected via the cervical approach, as the thoracic approach carries a greater risk of complications.

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is an important and preventable cause of morbidity and mortality among children and young adults in low-income and middle-income countries, as well as among certain at-risk populations living in high-income countries. The 2012 World Heart Federation echocardiographic criteria provided a standardized approach for the identification of RHD and facilitated an improvement in early case detection. The 2012 criteria were used to define disease burden in numerous epidemiological studies, but researchers and clinicians have since highlighted limitations that have prompted a revision.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) not associated with known risk factors has been reported from parts of India and is presumed to be similar to CKD of unknown etiology (CKDu) that has been described from Central America. The reports from India have been fragmented without clear description of the disease phenotype or its determinants. This paper summarizes the current state of knowledge around CKDu in India based on a review of literature, multi-stakeholder consultation, and a survey of Indian nephrologists.
