Background: The number and projections of cancer survivors are necessary to meet the healthcare needs of patients, while data on cure prevalence, that is, the percentage of patients who will not die of cancer by time since diagnosis, are lacking.
Materials And Methods: Data from Italian cancer registries (duration of registration ranged from 9 to 40 years, with a median of 22 years) covering 47% of the population were used to calculate the limited-duration prevalence, the complete prevalence in 2018, projections to 2030, and cure prevalence, by cancer type, sex, age, and time since diagnosis.
Results: A total of 3 347 809 people were alive in Italy in 2018 after a cancer diagnosis, corresponding to 5.

Altruism plays an essential role in promoting vaccine uptake, an issue that came to the fore during the COVID-19 pandemic through discussions of herd immunity and altruistic motivations. In response, the primary objective of this cross-sectional survey was to explore how altruistic attitudes have evolved in the post-pandemic era and to assess their effectiveness in motivating vaccination behavior in different age groups. The study aimed to elucidate changes in altruistic motivations for vaccination and their implications for public health strategies.

Family medicine plays a crucial role in overcoming vaccine hesitancy in rural areas with a limited access to healthcare services and a higher prevalence of vaccine hesitancy. Competent information on diseases and vaccinations provided in a trusting relationship is important to overcome vaccination hesitancy and reach acceptance. This article aims to provide a critical analysis of this issue using methodologically rigorous research and evidence-based recommendations from nonsystematic literature research.

Background: Changes in public attitudes toward “authorities” in general, as well as shifts in medical practice toward participative models of diagnosis and treatment, imply fundamental transformations in the patient−doctor relationship. However, consistency in reciprocal role expectations cannot be assumed, and this study reveals significant discrepancies in attitudes and behaviors in primary health consultations. Methods: We conducted a study in the tri-lingual northeastern Italian region of South Tyrol to determine whether perceptions of the patient’s role were congruent or differed.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been threatening the healthcare and socioeconomic systems of entire nations. While population-based surveys to assess the distribution of SARS-CoV-2 infection have become a priority, pre-existing longitudinal studies are ideally suited to assess the determinants of COVID-19 onset and severity. The Cooperative Health Research In South Tyrol (CHRIS) study completed the baseline recruitment of 13,393 adults from the Venosta/Vinschgau rural district in 2018, collecting extensive phenotypic and biomarker data, metabolomic data, densely imputed genotype and whole-exome sequencing data.

Fine motor abilities represent building blocks in performing daily life skills and have been found to be closely connected with later academic success. Moreover, medical and psychological sequelae for cancer inpatients may result in diminished daily activities functioning, poor perceived health related quality of life (HRQOL), and increase the likelihood of long-term impairments.

The possibility of higher death rates after admission to hospital during the weekend has been intensively investigated in North America and Northern Europe, while data are almost absent from Southern Europe and other WHOV regions. Increased death rates have not been uniformly confirmed. Differences in hospital care on weekends can vary depending on the reason for hospital admission, place and time.

However, for many healthcare professionals, lecturing constitutes an ancillary activity, and a full-time occupation in the healthcare industry makes participation in such time-consuming programmes difficult to envision.
Aim: To develop and offer for critical review a time-efficient pedagogical consultation method to improve lecture skills for medical teachers of healthcare professions.
