This study aims to explore the relationship between work-family conflict and its consequences on job, family, and marital satisfaction among stay-at-home wives of commuter couples by testing the moderating effect of commuters' family (parental, marital, and household) commitment. The phenomenon of commuter marriages is detectable among well-educated and employed couples in modern society. The study collected dyadic data from 120 dual-earner and noncohabitating couples by using convenience sampling.

Background: Electromyographic (EMG) endotracheal tubes with surface electrodes are used during neck surgery to prevent recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury. Proper positioning of the EMG tube is of paramount importance. In this study, we aimed to compare the use of video laryngoscopy with other methods for achieving the optimal depth of the EMG tube.

Degradation of corn starch with different moisture content by gaseous hydrogen chloride.

Corn starch, subjected to solid-state degradation using gaseous hydrogen chloride, was characterized to investigate the parameter effects on starch properties and further explore the thermal behavior of inter-crystalline amorphous lamellae of starch. The obtained starch granules exhibited A-type polymorph with 75-98 % recovery (w/w). Degreasing moisture content (6-12 %) with increasing duration (1-8 h) and temperature (25-45 °C) progressively decreased the weight-average degree of polymerization to 55-75 anhydroglucose unit and increased the gelatinization temperature range.
