To date, there have been no studies on the dynamics of areas of pain, paraesthesia and hypoesthesia after the use of various transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in the treatment of meralgia paresthetica. In this pilot study, we observed 68 patients with obesity-related bilateral meralgia paresthetica. Pain syndrome, paraesthesia symptoms, and hypoesthesia were evaluated using 10-point scores.

: Despite the long-term use of intramuscular and intraosseous lidocaine trigger point injections (LTPI) in the treatment of patients with low back pain, there have been no studies examining their efficiency in treatment of residual pain after degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS) decompression surgery. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) has proven effective in treating pain in many experimental and clinical studies. In addition to the analgesic effect, direct TENS of peripheral nerves had anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects in the treatment of distal polyneuropathy and spinal cord injury. Anti-angiogenic drugs are used as an established approach of malignant neoplasms therapy. It has been established that the development of the phenomenon of vasculogenic mimicry - a specific variant of tumor neoangiogenesis, which is formed in highly aggressive solid tumors, is associated with a decrease in the effectiveness of antitumor therapy. This review highlights the mechanisms of development of vasculogenic mimicry in malignant neoplasms, which is one of the alternative options for tumor blood supply.

Objective: To develop a protocol for setting artificial teeth in a complete removable denture without landmarks on the bite ridges.

Material And Methods: Based on the analysis of the literature of various areas of dentistry and the clinical experience of doctors corresponding to each of the disciplines of the specialty, a protocol for setting teeth in a full prosthesis was developed and its theoretical justification was given.

Results: Using the method proposed by us, 324 prostheses were made for 162 patients with complete secondary adentia of two jaws.

The review summarizes literature data on molecular and biochemical mechanisms of nonspecific protection of respiratory epithelium. The special attention is paid to comprehensive analysis of up-to-date data on the activity of the lactoperoxidase system expressed on the surface of the respiratory epithelium which provides the generation of hypothiocyanate and hypoiodite in the presence of locally produced or inhaled hydrogen peroxide. Molecular mechanisms of production of active compounds with antiviral and antibacterial effects, expression profiles of enzymes, transporters and ion channels involved in the generation of hypothiocyanite and hypoiodite in the mucous membrane of the respiratory system in physiological and pathological conditions (inflammation) are discussed.

Background And Aim: We aimed to investigate the effect of ozonated autohaemotherapy (OA) on the wound  healing, serum values of interleukin (IL) - 6, 8, 10, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and local expression of fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR) in type 2 diabetics with the acute soft-tissue infections.

Methods: Patients in the first cohort (n-30) received a basic comprehensive treatment (BCT-group), and the second (n=28) also received OA (OA-group). Blood samples for ELISA and tissue specimens for the immunohistochemical examinations were collected at admission (day 0) and at the 9th day of inpatient treatment.

Early life stress (ELS) causes long-lasting changes in brain plasticity induced by the exposure to stress factors acting prenatally or in the early postnatal ontogenesis due to hyperactivation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and sympathetic nervous system, development of neuroinflammation, aberrant neurogenesis and angiogenesis, and significant alterations in brain metabolism that lead to neurological deficits and higher susceptibility to development of brain disorders later in the life. As a key component of complex pathogenesis, ELS-mediated changes in brain metabolism associate with development of mitochondrial dysfunction, loss of appropriate mitochondria quality control and mitochondrial dynamics, deregulation of metabolic reprogramming. These mechanisms are particularly critical for maintaining the pool and development of brain cells within neurogenic and angiogenic niches.
