Recently, molybdenum disulfide (MoS)/carbon has become a promising candidate for efficient microwave absorption. However, it is still challenging to simultaneously optimize the synergy of impedance matching and loss capability at the level of a thin absorber. Here, a new adjustment strategy is proposed by changing the concentration of precursor l-cysteine for MoS/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) composites to unlock the basal plane of MoS and expand the interlayer spacing from 0.

Morphology and Microwave-Absorbing Performances of Rubber Blends with Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes and Molybdenum Disulfide.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

May 2023

Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials of Tropical Island Resources of Ministry of Education, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hainan University, Haikou 570228, China.

This study details microwave-absorbing materials made of natural rubber/nitrile butadiene rubber (NR/NBR) blends with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS). The mechanical blending method and the influences of fabrication on the morphology and microwave-absorbing performance of resulting compounds were logically investigated. It was found that interfacial differences between the fillers and matrix promote the formation of MWCNTs and MoS networks in NR/NBR blends, thus improving microwave-absorbing performance.

The contamination of greenhouse vegetable soils with antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), caused by the application of livestock and poultry manure, is a prominent environmental problem. In this study, the effects of two ecological earthworms (endogeic Metaphire guillelmi and epigeic Eisenia fetida) on the accumulation and transfer of chlortetracycline (CTC) and ARGs in a soil-lettuce system were studied via pot experiments. The results revealed that earthworm application accelerated the removal of the CTC from the soil and lettuce roots and leaves, with the CTC content reducing by 11.

Natural Polymer Template for Low-Cost Producing High-Performance TiCT MXene Electrodes for Flexible Supercapacitors.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2022

Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Natural Rubber Processing, Agricultural Products Processing Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Zhanjiang524001, China.

MXenes, two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal carbides and nitrides with high electrical conductivity, show outstanding potential for energy storage applications. However, the aggregation and restacking of 2D MXene nanosheets seriously decrease the performance of MXene-based electrodes. Instead of using high-cost artificial templates, herein, we select natural rubber (NR) latex-containing uniform sub-macroparticles as sacrificial templates and successfully construct three-dimensional interconnected porous MXene foam.
