Objective: Heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) is a highly conserved ATP-dependent chaperone protein that plays a vital role in tumorigenesis. This study aims to investigate the apoptosis inducer role of BIIB021 (orally available HSP90 inhibitors) compound via inhibition of HSP90 activity in the human cervical cancer cell line (HeLa).

Patients And Methods: The anticancer potential of BIIB021 was determined by XTT [2,3-bis-(2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfophenyl)] cell proliferation assay against the human cervical cancer cell line (HeLa).

Uterine manipulation is essential for moving the uterus and proper anatomical dissection without complications during total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). Although many different uterine manipulators (UM) have been designed in the last few decades, there is still no "optimal UM" that is universally safe, efficient, and cost-effective. This study aimed to compare myoma screw (MS) and UM with regard to surgical outcomes and cost-effectiveness in patients who underwent TLH.

We aimed to investigate the effects of a 6-week program of 8 h time-restricted feeding (TRF) diet in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), as determined by anthropometric, hormonal, metabolic profiles, and fecal calprotectin level. Thirty women diagnosed with PCOS underwent a 6-week 8 h TRF diet intervention. Age, anthropometric features (body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR)) and biochemical results were recorded.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of abdominal subcutaneous fat thickness (ASFT) in predicting antenatal insulin therapy (AIT) in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

Methods: A prospective study was conducted on patients with regulated blood sugar levels (n = 50) and those with unregulated blood sugar (n = 50) although medical nutrition therapy (MNT) was initiated and then AIT was applied. Using receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, appropriate ASFT cut-off point values were found for the prediction of cases that required AIT after MNT in GDM pregnancies.

August 2016

Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Medical Faculty, Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Eskisehir, Turkey. Electronic address:

We here provide an update on the literature regarding local allergic rhinitis (LAR). In reviewing LAR, we have included an updated definition, classifications, mechanisms, comorbidities, and recommendations for diagnosis and treatment for LAR, as well as the defined research areas for future evidence-based studies. LAR is a localised nasal allergic response in the absence of systemic atopy characterised by local production of specific IgE (sIgE) antibodies, a TH2 pattern of mucosal cell infiltration during natural exposure to aeroallergens, and a positive nasal allergen provocation test response, with the release of inflammatory mediators.
