Purpose: Tethered cord syndrome (TCS) typically presents with urologic symptoms and abnormal imaging findings. However, some patients present with normal conus medullaris level and filum terminale appearance on MRI. This research seeks to assess the intended surgical results in this particular group of TCS patients who do not present with urologic complaints, under the premise that the surgical approach goes a long way in preventing the onset of urologic abnormalities.

Background: This study aimed to examine the long-term functional results of patients with isolated discrete subaortic stenosis who underwent subaortic membrane resection and myectomy, using transthoracic M-mode echocardiography and 2D speckle-tracking echocardiography.
Methods: Twenty patients operated for isolated discrete subaortic stenosis and 31 controls were included in the study. Patients underwent subaortic membrane resection and myectomy.

Gastric cancer (GC) development can be attributed to several risk factors including atrophic gastritis (AG), intestinal metaplasia (IM), and the presence of Helicobacter pylori (HP). Also, histone modification is an epigenetic mechanism that plays a pivotal role in GC carcinogenesis. In this preliminary study, we aimed to describe the expression profiles of histone modification in the AG, IM, and GC patient groups.

Objectives: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic upper respiratory tract disease that inflames the mucous membranes of the nose and occurs when circulating inflammatory cells including eosinophils and basophils migrate to and accumulate in the inflammation area by passing through the interstitium and capillary walls. To pass through these barriers, the inflammatory cells degrade extracellular matrix proteins. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) released by inflammatory cells mediate the degradation of these proteins.
