Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore the impact of bone wax on postoperative complications like bleeding, infection, and wound healing in patients undergoing median sternotomy.
  • The research involved 184 patients, split into two groups—one receiving bone wax and the other receiving no treatment—after their surgical procedure, and compared various postoperative outcomes between the two groups.
  • Results showed no significant differences in postoperative drainage, infection rates, or mortality between the two groups, concluding that bone wax does not effectively reduce bleeding or lead to deep infections after surgery.
