In recent decades, strategies devised to address challenges in life testing have noticeably veered away from those designed for related yet more intricate issues. The increasing complexity of data generated daily across practical fields has given rise to a novel realm in reliability that includes life classes and specific probability distributions. This study serves as an illustration of the effectiveness of integrating the goodness-of-fit technique into life testing quandaries, resulting in more efficient processes comparable to or surpassing traditional methods.

March 2024

Department of Basics Sciences, College of Science and Theoretical studies, Saudi Electronic University, Jeddah 23442, Saudi Arabia.

This paper presents novel concepts including stratified single-valued neutrosophic soft topogenous (), stratified single-valued neutrosophic soft filter (), stratified single-valued neutrosophic soft quasi uniformity () and stratified single-valued neutrosophic soft quasi proximity (). Additionally, we present the idea of single-valued neutrosophic soft topogenous structures, formed by integrating svns-topogenous with svns-filter, and discuss their properties. Furthermore, we explore the connections between these single-valued neutrosophic soft topological structures and their corresponding stratifications.

Tizanidine HCl (TZN) is an FDA-approved medication for treating spasticity. However, its oral administration presents obstacles to its efficacy, as it has a short duration of action and a low rate of absorption into the circulation (less than 40%) due to its rapid breakdown in the liver. In addition, its hydrophilic properties limit its capacity to cross the blood-brain barrier, thereby prohibiting it from reaching the central nervous system, where it can exert its intended therapeutic effects.

Background: Depressive symptoms are common, worsening heart failure (HF) progression and reducing quality of life. While supervised structured exercise training is effective for managing depressive symptoms, it often demands a substantial time commitment or intensive activity that may discourage participation.

Objective: Evaluate the impacts of reducing sedentary time with short bouts of light physical activities or greater intensity levels on depressive symptoms after HF patients' enrollment in a home-based intervention.

Enhanced brain tumor diagnosis using combined deep learning models and weight selection technique.

Front Neuroinform

November 2024

Department of Information Systems, College of Computer and Information Sciences, Jouf University, Sakaka, Saudi Arabia.

Brain tumor classification is a critical task in medical imaging, as accurate diagnosis directly influences treatment planning and patient outcomes. Traditional methods often fall short in achieving the required precision due to the complex and heterogeneous nature of brain tumors. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to brain tumor multi-classification by leveraging an ensemble learning method that combines advanced deep learning models with an optimal weighting strategy.

Aim: The present study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of noninvasive cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the estimation of periodontal bone defects and compare it with that of measurements obtained by invasive surgical exploration using open flap debridement procedure for the evaluation of bony topography.

Materials And Methods: Bone defects in 384 sites with moderate-to-severe periodontitis from eight patients were considered. Probing depth was measured in the following six sites in the selected teeth: mesiobuccal (MB), mesiopalatal (MP)/mesiolingual (ML), buccal (B), palatal (P)/lingual (L), distobuccal (DB) and distopalatal (DP)/distolingual (DL).

Background: Stress is among the most common comorbid conditions with epilepsy and a strong factor in the pathophysiology of seizures. An imbalance in neuronal circuits causes recurrent unprovoked seizures in epilepsy. Dysregulation of BDNF/VEGF expression, oxidative stress, increased levels of neuroinflammatory cytokines, and increased expression of apoptotic genes contribute to the underlying cause of the seizure.

November 2024

Pharmaceutical Care Department, King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; College of Pharmacy, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Science, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Background: Tacrolimus is an essential immunosuppressive medication in paediatric patients' post-liver transplantation. Achieving tacrolimus target concentration in early post-transplantation is crucial to minimise the risk of acute rejection; however, this is challenging due to inter- and intra-patient variability in tacrolimus metabolism and clearance. Therefore, our study aims to describe tacrolimus trough concentration variability and pharmacokinetics in paediatric post-liver transplantation during the first two weeks post-transplantation.
