The LuX-Valve Plus is a novel radial force-independent orthotopic transjugular transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement device proven to be effective in TR reduction. We describe preprocedural assessment for eligibility and procedural planning by means of computed tomography as well as procedural steps of device implantation under multimodality imaging guidance including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), and fluoroscopy: steering into the right ventricle, leaflet capture by graspers, fine valve adjustment, and septal anchor deployment. Potential pitfalls are avoided by achieving optimal alignment by means of TEE multiplanar reconstruction to steer the delivery system, and using mid-esophageal and deep gastric views of 3-dimensional TEE and supplementary ICE to visualize the graspers for leaflet capture, especially when TEE imaging is technically challenging.

Beneficial associations between higher fruit and vegetable intakes and risk of depression appear to exist but few studies have focused on adults aged 45 + years and the potential that associations are due to residual confounding has not been tested. This longitudinal study of twins (n = 3483, age 45-90 years) from Australia, Denmark, Sweden and USA, assessed the associations between baseline fruit/vegetable intake and depressive symptoms over 5-11 years using linear mixed effects models. Intakes from food frequency questionnaires were trichotomized.

The concentration of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in plasma is an important determinant of the robustness of liquid biopsies. However, biological mechanisms that lead to inter-individual differences in cfDNA concentrations remain unexplored. The concentration of plasma cfDNA is governed by an interplay between its release and clearance.

Unlabelled: The study highlights the significant changes in respiratory virus epidemiology following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.
Method: In this single-centre retrospective study, the virological readouts of adenovirus (AdV), influenza virus A (IAV), influenza virus B (IBV), parainfluenza viruses (PIV) 1, 2, 3, 4, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and coupled enterovirus and rhinovirus (EV/RV) were extracted from the respiratory specimens of paediatric patients in Hong Kong from January 2015 to February 2024. The subjects were stratified into five age groups.

The uncontrolled emergence of multidrug-resistant mycobacterial strains presents as the primary determinant of the present crisis in antimycobacterial therapeutics and underscores tuberculosis (TB) as a daunting global health concern. There is an urgent requirement for drug development for the treatment of TB. Numerous novel molecules are presently undergoing clinical investigation as part of TB drug development.

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) clones can be identified in a significant proportion of patients with aplastic anemia (AA). Screening for PNH clones at the time of an AA diagnosis is recommended by national and international guidelines. In this report, an expert panel of physicians discusses current best practices and provides recommendations for managing PNH in patients with AA in the Asia-Pacific region.

: Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) affects over 500 million people worldwide, and over 50% of this group experience the most common complication, diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). The presence of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) has been linked with the development of DPN. The present study assessed AGE levels in participants with type 2 diabetes and explored the hypothesis that there may be increased AGE levels in more severe DPN.

Purpose Of Review: Familial hypercholesterolemia is a treatable genetic disorder of cholesterol metabolism. Genetic testing is the most specific method for diagnosing familial hypercholesterolemia, but it remains underutilized. Implementation science aims to bridge the gap between evidence and practice and, thereby, support improved familial hypercholesterolemia care.

Chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) carries a significant risk of limb loss and thus demands urgent attention. Calcified atherosclerotic disease affecting the infra-popliteal (IP) arteries poses a formidable challenge for effective revascularization due to the narrow vessel diameter and the common presence of extensively calcified, long occlusive lesions. Intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) is an endovascular treatment that induces microfractures in the medial calcifications of blood vessels, thereby facilitating the clearance of calcified obstructive arterial lesions.

Access to timely, age-appropriate palliative care services and end-of-life communication are two standards of care for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) living with cancer where cure is uncertain or unlikely. Health professionals' capacity to facilitate these standards is critical. This study aimed to understand AYA oncology health professionals' experienced practices in, and barriers to, delivering these standards of care across palliative care and end-of-life communication in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom (UK).

Objective: This study aims to investigate in patients over 65 with neck of femur (NOF) fractures in Rural Australia, does initial presentation to a peripheral hospital result in a delay to surgery?
Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Setting: Dubba Base Hospital, Trauma Hospital Rural Australia (Modified Monash Model (MMM) 3) and catchment area (MMM 3-7), NSW, Australia.
Participants: The study includes 350 patients over 65, presenting with closed, unilateral NOF fractures who underwent operative management at the operating centre, 203 from peripheral hospitals.

Objectives: Identify clinical and demographic characteristics of low-acuity presentations (LAPs) to the ED and analyse correlations between population rates of LAPs to ED and rates of Medicare-subsidised general practitioner (GP) services across statistical areas.
Methods: Retrospective data linkage study using state-wide ED data and publicly available data on GP services per population by statistical area. We performed multilevel logistic regression to determine predictors of LAP at an individual level after adjusting for remoteness categories and performed correlations between rates of LAP and GP services per population across statistical areas in New South Wales, Australia.

Objectives: In line with the widespread acknowledgement of the harms which can be caused to healthcare staff through their role in adverse events and unexpected patient outcomes, so is there now acceptance of the role of staff peer support programs to support these 'second victims' in a non-clinical way. Here, we share reproduceable steps that any service might take in creating their own staff peer support program.
Methods: We outline the establishment of a program in a NSW health-service encompassing several hospitals and services, from initiation of the program, customising it to our local needs, engaging the broader health service, launching the program, and the ongoing maintenance required.
