Introduction: Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), defined as two or more pregnancy losses, might be associated with elevated obstetrical and perinatal risks in the following pregnancies. RPL and pregnancy problems related to placental development may have similar etiological features. This study explores the incidences of pregnancy and perinatal outcomes in women with RPL.

Background: Higher circulating levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha receptors 1 (TNFR1) and 2 (TNFR2) are associated with increased long-term mortality and impaired kidney function.
Aim: To study associations between levels of TNFR1 and TNFR2 and all-cause mortality as well as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline.
Population And Methods: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 3-5 in the Salford Kidney Study were included.

Objective: An exercise programme in primary care soon after radical cystectomy for urinary bladder cancer was previously evaluated regarding its effects on physical function. A secondary aim, presented herein, was to evaluate the programme in terms of its effect on postoperative complications.
Materials And Methods: Patients who were planned for robot-assisted radical cystectomy for urinary bladder cancer at Karolinska University Hospital between September 2019 and October 2022 were invited to participate.

: This study aimed to assess the incidence of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) treated in primary-care settings in Catalonia, Spain, and identify key risk factors associated with DR development. : A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the SIDIAP (System for Research and Development in Primary Care) database. Patients aged 30-90 with T2DM who underwent retinal screening between 2010 and 2015 were included.

Drugs blocking the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system may offer benefit on endothelial function, inflammation, and hemostasis in addition to the effects of reducing blood pressure. We have shown antithrombin effects by treatment with the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor ramipril. As thrombin is a key inducer of platelet aggregation, we hypothesized that treatment with ramipril could modulate platelet reactivity and endothelial glycocalyx (eGCX) function.

Importance: In pregnancy, the benefits of lithium treatment for relapse prevention in psychiatric conditions must be weighed against potential teratogenic effects. Currently, there is a paucity of information on how and when lithium is used by pregnant women.
Objective: To examine lithium use in the perinatal period.

It is still unclear how changes in alcohol control policies may have contributed to changes in overall levels of alcohol-attributed harm between and within the Nordic countries. We modified and applied the Bridging the Gap (BtG)-scale to measure the restrictiveness of a set of alcohol control policies for each Nordic country and each year between 1990 and 2019. Alcohol-attributed harm was measured as total and sex-specific alcohol-attributed disease burden by age-standardized years of life losts (YLLs), years lived with disability (YLDs), and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) per 100 000 population from the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD).

Background: Plasma osteopontin (pOPN) is a promising aging-related biomarker among individuals with and without kidney disease. The interaction between sex, pOPN levels, and global and cardiorenal outcomes among older individuals was not previously evaluated.
Methods: In this study we investigated the association of pOPN with 24-month global mortality, major cardiovascular events (MACEs), MACEs + cardiovascular (CV) mortality, and renal decline among older individuals; we also evaluated whether sex modified observed associations.

Exhaustion disorder (ED) was introduced to the Swedish version of the International Classification of Diseases, 10th edition (ICD-10) 2005. Primarily characterized by general fatigue and cognitive deficits, ED has become one of the most common mental health diagnoses in Sweden. Little is still known regarding the discriminative validity of the ED diagnosis and how it relates to other diagnostic constructs.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly NAFLD), emerges as major cause of morbidity and mortality globally, with chronic patients facing increased risk. Guidelines on MASLD management in primary care (PC) are limited. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a clinical care pathway for use in PC to improve MASLD screening and management, including early detection, communication and treatment, in three European countries (Greece, Spain, the Netherlands).

Background: Patients with chronic pain often struggle to engage in physical activity despite its health benefits. The eVISualisation of physical activity and pain intervention (eVIS) was developed to support adherence to physical activity plans in Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation Programs (IPRPs) by visualising activity, pain levels, pain interference, and pharmacological use. This pilot study assesses the feasibility and acceptability of trial design and trial conduct of a registry-based randomised clinical trial (R-RCT).

In this study we examined the effect of simultaneously elevated levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) (≥ 65 ng/mL) and high levels of insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) on the 10-year risk of all-cause mortality and hip fractures. Blood tests for levels of PTH and IGFBP-1 was collected at baseline in 338 community-dwelling women in Stockholm aged between 69 and 79 years. Data on hip fractures and all-cause mortality over the next 10 years were retrieved from healthcare registers.

The aim was to study if nurse-managed hypertension care was associated with differences in pharmacotherapy, lifestyle counseling, and prevalence of comorbid cardiometabolic diseases among patients receiving care at primary health care centers. To assess the extent of nurses' involvement in the hypertension care, a questionnaire was distributed to all primary health care centers in Region Stockholm. Age-adjusted logistic regression models were used to analyze the results, odds ratios with 99% confidence intervals.

Introduction: Although perinatal death rates in the Nordic countries are among the lowest in the world, the risk of perinatal death is unevenly distributed across the Nordic countries, despite similarity in health care systems and pregnancy care. Birth registration practices across countries may explain some of the differences. We investigated differences in national registration of perinatal mortality within the Nordic countries and its impact on perinatal mortality according to gestational age.
