The number of studies on the subject of effects of zirconium dioxide (ZrO) nanoparticles addition on the mechanical parameters of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is still very limited. Therefore, in this research, the authors wanted to assess PMMA modified with the nano-ZrO additive in terms of changes in flexural, impact and tensile strength values in relation to PMMA without such component. A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to evaluate the effect of incorporating nano-ZrO into PMMA on individual types of material strength.

Cervical cancer ranks high among the cancers that affect people in their 20s and 30s. Cervical cancer is characterized by the presence of precancerous lesions, which can be detected by cancer screenings; some precancerous lesions are amenable to treatment, which can halt the progression to invasive cancer. As a result, cervical cancer screening has been shown to reduce the incidence of invasive cancer and its mortality.

Introduction: Fixing fractures of the base and neck of mandibular condyles is demanding due to the difficulties in surgical access and the various shapes of bone fragments. Classic fixation techniques assume the use of straight mini-plates, utilized for other craniofacial bone fractures. Three dimensional mini-plates may provide a reasonable alternative due to their ease of use and steadily improved mechanical properties.

Macrophages play an important role in regulating adipose tissue function, while their frequencies in adipose tissue vary between individuals. Adipose tissue infiltration by high frequencies of macrophages has been linked to changes in adipokine levels and low-grade inflammation, frequently associated with the progression of obesity. The objective of this project was to assess the contribution of relative macrophage frequencies to the overall subcutaneous adipose tissue gene expression using publicly available datasets.

Introduction: The retroauricular approach (RA) has been developed in order to expose the temporomandibular joint in a way that minimizes the risk of injury to the facial nerve and masks the postoperative scar. One of its characteristics is an excellent posterolateral view of the mandibular head, which allows for the preservation of the lateral temporomandibular joint ligaments in the course of open intracapsular surgery.
Aim: The aim of this study is to systematically review the currently used variants and modifications of RA.
