India is considered a hub for a wide range of phytochemicals due to its rich biodiversity, which indeed flourished with many folk medicines and treatments. Phytochemicals are secondary metabolites synthesized in plants to protect themselves from deteriorating environmental stress and defense against pathogens. In the present study, we aimed to explore the strong anticancer potential of the bioactive compound present in the leaf extract of Coldenia procumbens (L.

Herein, we report, for the first-time, mesoporous carbon-supported binary and ternary catalysts with different atomic ratios of Pt/MC (100), Pt-Sn/MC (50 : 50), Pt-Re/MC (50 : 50), Pt-Sn-Re/MC (80 : 10 : 10) and Pt-Sn-Re/MC (80 : 115 : 05) prepared using a co-impregnation reduction method as anode components for membraneless ethanol fuel cells (MLEFLs). Mechanistic and structural insights into binary Pt-Sn/MC, Pt-Re/MC and ternary Pt-Sn-Re/MC catalysts were obtained using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) methods. In particular, chemical characterization cyclic voltammetry, CO stripping voltammetry and chronoamperometry indicated that Pt-Sn-Re/MC (80 : 15 : 05) had better dynamics toward ethanol oxidation than Pt-Sn-Re/MC (80 : 10 : 10), Pt-Sn/MC (50 : 50) and Pt-Re/MC (50 : 50) catalysts.

Substituted pyridinium bromides are prepared by conventional and solvent-free greener methods. The solvent-free solid-phase (greener) method is superior to the conventional method because of its nontoxic nature, simple reaction setup procedure, and twenty times less time consumption. Column chromatography and toxic organic solvents are avoided.

Synthesis of dimeric nitro-substituted imidazolium salts under the conventional/solvent-free method is reported. The solvent-free method is more important than the conventional one because of its shorter reaction time, higher yield from easily available starting material, environmental safety, and so forth. Counter anion exchange is carried out using inorganic salt, which is dissolved in deionized water at room temperature.

This paper presents the synthesis of two new chitosan Schiff base (CSB) polymers, namely, 2PCT and 4MCT based on pyridin-2-ylmethyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde and 1-(4-methyl-3,5-dimethylisoxazole)-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde with chitosan (CT). The structural features of CSB polymers were confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (H NMR) spectroscopy and their antimicrobial activity was evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The antioxidant studies found that both 2PCT and 4MCT presented significant free radical scavenging activity with IC at 169.

Two imine derivatives of chitosan (i-CTs), namely 2FCT and 5MCT, were synthesized by reacting chitosan (CT) with 2-(3-formyl-1H-indol-1yl)acetonitrile (2F), and 5-methoxyindole-3-carbaldehyde (5M), respectively. The antimicrobial evaluation of i-CTs exhibited stronger inhibition effect against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. The antioxidant activity of 2FCT and 5MCT showed strong scavenging ability with IC 2.

In the present paper, we report the successful synthesis of spinel-type of CuCrO and La doped CuCrO semiconductor nanoparticles by a microwave method. Starting with the precursor complex, this technique includes the creation of homogenous solid intermediates, which reduces atomic diffusion pathways during the microwave process. CuCrO and La doped CuCrO were characterized by the following analytical methods for instance X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR).

Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) is the only available remedial measure to treat HIV infected patients, as recognized by the WHO. However, it is associated with toxicity (nephrotoxicity), high cost and most preferably drug resistance in the first-line treatment. Wherefore, potential and novel natural source is the only option for the modern world to challenge this global issue.
