Ectopic pregnancies are uncommon among women presenting for abortion. However, where suspected, rapid referral for definitive diagnosis is essential to prevent harm. We assessed whether implementation of a standardised decision-making tool, an algorithmic representation of the clinical decisions and associated actions defined in policy, in a British abortion service was associated with a reduction in missed opportunities to escalate care where indicated.

Background: To evaluate the risk factors associated with WOI (window of implantation) displacement based on ERT (endometrial receptivity test), and to confirm the association of ectopic pregnancy with WOI displacement.
Methods: This is a retrospective study at the Reproductive Medicine Center of Xiangya Hospital from January 2020 to April 2024, consisting of 934 patients who performed ERT. The patients underwent 3771 assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles and 2629 embryo transfer (ET) cycles, with each patient experiencing at least one implantation failure.

Study Question: Can antinuclear antibodies (ANA) affect the subsequent live birth rate (LBR) in patients with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) in the absence of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL)?
Summary Answer: Women with unexplained RPL have a high probability of live birth following a positive pregnancy test (>70%), being similar between those with positive and negative ANA testing, regardless of the cut-off value.
What Is Known Already: The RPL guidelines of the ESHRE state that 'ANA testing can be considered for explanatory purposes'. However, there have been a limited number of studies on this issue and sample sizes have been small, and the impact of ANA on the pregnancy prognosis is unclear.

Palpitations are common in pregnancy and warrant investigation. Palpitations may be caused by non-cardiac and cardiac causes. Patients with structural or functional abnormalities or inherited cardiovascular disease are more likely to develop arrhythmia, especially during pregnancy when the mother's body undergoes extensive physiological adaptations, which further contribute to an increased arrhythmia risk.

Hepatic pregnancy, an exceedingly rare subtype of abdominal ectopic pregnancy, remains clinically challenging due to its infrequency, diverse presentations, and diagnostic difficulties. We report the clinical course, diagnostic journey and treatment of a woman with a primary hepatic pregnancy. The patient presented with acute pain in the right hypochondrium and vomiting.

Ectopic pregnancy is a severe complication of early pregnancy that can lead to significant morbidity and mortality. Methotrexate is a standard non-surgical treatment for ectopic pregnancy, especially in cases where beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) levels are low. However, its effectiveness decreases as β-HCG levels rise.

Background: Current models for predicting intraoperative hemorrhage in cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy (CSEP) are constrained by known risk factors and conventional statistical methods. Our objective is to develop an interpretable prediction model using machine learning (ML) techniques to assess the risk of intraoperative hemorrhage during CSEP in women, followed by external validation and clinical application.
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study utilized electronic medical record (EMR) data from four tertiary medical institutions.

Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory, estrogenic disorder caused by endometrial tissue growth places other than uterine lumen, resulting in infertility and severe pelvic pain. Thymol, an extract of , processes diverse biological properties, including anti-inflammatory, local anesthetic, decongestant, and antiseptic effects. However, the efficacy of thymol in treating endometriosis has still not been explored.

Motile cilia are evolutionarily conserved organelles. In humans, multiciliated cells (MCCs), assembling several hundred motile cilia on their apical surface, are components of the monolayer epithelia lining lower and upper airways, brain ventricles, and parts of the reproductive tracts, the fallopian tube and uterus in females, and efferent ductules in males. The coordinated beating of cilia generates a force that enables a shift of the tubular fluid, particles, or cells along the surface of the ciliated epithelia.

Background: The epidemiology of Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) infection in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region remains poorly understood, despite the global recognition of its disease burden and the growing concern regarding antimicrobial resistance. This study aimed to systematically review the evidence on NG prevalence in MENA, estimate the pooled mean prevalence across different populations, and explore population-level associations with prevalence as well as sources of between-study heterogeneity.
Methods: The study conducted a systematic review, risk of bias assessment, meta-analyses, and meta-regressions, utilizing both published and unpublished evidence sourced from international, regional, and national databases, in adherence to PRISMA guidelines.
Ectopic pregnancy is a gynaecological emergency. While its identification and management are monumental, it also impacts the patient's future fertility. Ectopic pregnancy is one of the leading causes for maternal deaths in the first trimester.

Ectopic pregnancy, the implantation of a fertilized zygote outside the uterine cavity, presents with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Diagnosis relies on clinical signs, and treatment involves surgery or methotrexate in selected cases. A 24-year-old woman at 37 weeks of gestation underwent elective cesarean delivery under general anesthesia, revealing an unexpected broad ligament ectopic pregnancy.

Methods: This study involved 81 patients with severe EMs (stages III and IV) and 38 controls with benign gynecological conditions, matched by age and BMI, diagnosis at Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital from January 2018 to December 2019.

Importance: During FET cycles in IVF/ICSI patients (including PGT patients), transfer of embryos that have been thawed may be abandoned for medical or personal reasons, resulting in the need to refreeze embryos. Typically, embryos from patients undergoing preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) are cryopreserved after biopsy, pending test results. However, in the absence of a clear result, another biopsy is required and the embryo is frozen again to await the results for future use.

Introduction: Ectopic pregnancies are a significant clinical concern, with 90 % occurring in the fallopian tubes. However, they can also manifest in other locations, including the cervix, ovary, and abdominal cavity. Abdominal pregnancies, which constitute less than 1 % of ectopic pregnancies, are associated with considerable morbidity and mortality.

Ectopic pregnancy, defined as the implantation of a developing pregnancy outside of the endometrial cavity of the uterus, is the leading cause of early-pregnancy maternal mortality. The majority of ectopic pregnancies implant in a fallopian tube. Acute complications may include rupture of the fallopian tube or rupture of ectopic pregnancy, haemorrhage and hypovolaemic shock, or occur secondary to treatments such as emergency surgery or blood transfusions, and ultimately increase the risk of maternal death.

Objective: To evaluate the predictive ability of serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin (βhCG) levels and inflammatory markers derived from hemogram parameters in the success of methotrexate (MTX) treatment for tubal ectopic pregnancy.
Methods: This retrospective study involved the examination of patients diagnosed with tubal ectopic pregnancy and treated with a single dose of MTX at our clinic between 2018 and 2023. The monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) were calculated from blood samples taken at the time of presentation.
