Acute myocardial infarction is an event of myocardial necrosis caused by unstable ischemic syndrome. Myocardial infarction (MI) occurs when blood stops flowing to the cardiac tissue or myocardium and the heart muscle gets damaged due to poor perfusion and reduced oxygen supply. Mitochondria can serve as the arbiter of cell fate in response to stress.

Background: The existence of aberrant myocardial activity and function in the exclusion of those other cardiovascular events, such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, and severe valve disease, is known as diabetic cardiomyopathy. Diabetes patients are much more prone to death from cardiovascular illnesses than from any other cause, and they also have a 2-5 fold higher likelihood of acquiring cardiac failure and other complications.

Objective: In this review, the pathophysiology of diabetic cardiomyopathy is discussed, with an emphasis on the molecular and cellular irregularities that arise as the condition progresses, as well as existing and prospective future treatments.

Nanosilver-functionalized polysaccharides as a platform for wound dressing.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

April 2023

Substance Abuse and Toxicology Research Centre, Jazan University, Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

Polysaccharides that are naturally sourced have enormous promise as wound dressings, due to their wider availability and reasonable cost and good biocompatibility. Furthermore, nanosilver extensively applied in wound treatment is attributed to its broad spectrum of antimicrobial effects and lesser drug resistance. Consequently, wound dressings in corporating nanosilver have attracted wide-scale interest in wound healing, and nanosilver-functionalized polysaccharide-based wound dressings present an affordable option for healing of chronic wounds.

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PSIT-Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology Pharmacy, Kalpi Road, Bhauti, Kanpur, 208020, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Computer-based modelling and simulation are developing as effective tools for supplementing biological data processing and interpretation. It helps to accelerate the creation of dosage forms at a lower cost and with the less human effort required to conduct the work. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive description of the different computer simulation models for various drugs along with their outcomes.

A cognitive radio network (CRN) is an intelligent network that can detect unoccupied spectrum space without interfering with the primary user (PU). Spectrum scarcity arises due to the stable channel allocation, which the CRN handles. Spectrum handoff management is a critical problem that must be addressed in the CRN to ensure indefinite connection and profitable use of unallocated spectrum space for secondary users (SUs).

Local Drug Delivery Strategies towards Wound Healing.

Pharmaceutics

February 2023

Faculty of Pharmacy, Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Etawah 206130, Uttar Pradesh, India.

A particular biological process known as wound healing is connected to the overall phenomena of growth and tissue regeneration. Several cellular and matrix elements work together to restore the integrity of injured tissue. The goal of the present review paper focused on the physiology of wound healing, medications used to treat wound healing, and local drug delivery systems for possible skin wound therapy.

September 2022

Chemistry Research Unit (CIQUP), Institute of Molecular Sciences (IMS), Departamento de Geociências, Ambiente e Ordenamento do Território, Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade do Porto, Rua do Campo Alegre s/n, 4169-007 Porto, Portugal.

Er/Yb doped/co-doped NaGdF upconversion phosphor nanoparticles were synthesized via the thermal decomposition route of synthesis. The α-phase crystal structure and nanostructure of these particles were confirmed using XRD and FE-SEM analysis. In the power-dependent upconversion analysis, different emission bands at 520 nm, 540 nm, and 655 nm were obtained.

Diabetes is a major health issue, and its complications can lead to various health problems. Nephropathy has been recognised since the 1930s, when Kimmelstiel and Wilson first reported the characteristic nodular glomerulosclerosis lesions in diabetic kidneys. Diabetic nephropathy (DN), commonly known as diabetic kidney disease, is a condition in which people with diabetes have excessive quantities of urine albumin excretion, diabetic glomerular lesions, and a reduction in their glomerular filtration rate (GFR).

Variations in COVID-19 lesions such as glass ground opacities (GGO), consolidations, and crazy paving can compromise the ability of solo-deep learning (SDL) or hybrid-deep learning (HDL) artificial intelligence (AI) models in predicting automated COVID-19 lung segmentation in Computed Tomography (CT) from unseen data leading to poor clinical manifestations. As the first study of its kind, "COVLIAS 1.0-Unseen" proves two hypotheses, (i) contrast adjustment is vital for AI, and (ii) HDL is superior to SDL.

Nrf2 Mediated Heme Oxygenase-1 Activation Contributes to Diabetic Wound Healing - an Overview.

Drug Res (Stuttg)

November 2022

Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Ooty, The Nilgiris, Tamilnadu, India.

Diabetic wound healing is a complicated procedure because hyperglycemia changes the various stages of wound healing. In type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), oxidative stress is proven to be a critical factor in causing non-healing wounds and aggravating the inflammatory phase, resulting in the amputation of lower limbs in T2DM patients. This makes scientists figure out how to control oxidative stress and chronic inflammation at the molecular level.
