This study details the design, fabrication, clinical trials' evaluation, and analysis after the clinical application of 3D-printed bone reconstruction implants made of nHAp@PLDLLA [nanohydroxyapatite@poly(L-lactide--D,L-lactide)] biomaterial. The 3D-printed formulations have been tested as bone reconstruction in 3 different medical cases, including frontal lobe, mandibular bone, and cleft palate reconstructions. Replacing one of the implants after 6 months provided a unique opportunity to evaluate the post-surgical implant obtained from a human patient.

The number of scientific publications on the impact of corrosion on current collectors on the working parameters of electrochemical capacitors is very limited. The aim of current research is to search for new, environmentally friendly chemical power sources and energy storage devices and to improve existing ones. This study aimed to investigate the fabrication and characterization of hexagonal titanium dioxide nanotubes (hTNTs) compared to compact TiO layers, focusing on their structural, electrochemical, corrosion, and mechanical properties. The fabrication process involved the sonoelectrochemical anodization of titanium foil in various electrolytes to obtain titanium oxide layers with different morphologies. Scanning electron microscopy revealed the formation of well-ordered hexagonal TNTs with diagonals in the range of 30-95 nm and heights in the range of 3500-4000 nm (35,000-40,000 Å).

This paper presents the methodology of measuring chip temperature in the cutting zone in the rough milling of magnesium alloys. Infrared measurements are taken to determine the effect of variable cutting speed, feed per tooth, and depth of cut on the maximum temperature of chips. In the field of anticancer therapy study it is of great interest to find effective G-quadruplex ligands which may be of potential use in medical treatment or cancer prevention. Since among the compounds of natural origin, flavonoids have attracted notable attention because of their unique properties and promising therapeutic applications, an interesting question was to identify the flavonoid structural features that could provide effective binding properties toward G-quadruplex. By using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, followed by the survival yield method, it has been shown that the flavonoid molecules which contain an available C4=O carbonyl group form more stable adducts with G-tetrads than the other ones.

This paper explores the therapeutic perspectives of polyphenols and chitosan as potential anticancer agents in the mouthwash formulations. Taking into account the high incidence of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) among oral cancers, this discussion will concentrate on the potential advantages of these compounds in oral care, focusing on their impact on improving oral health and cancer prevention. According to the data, it appears that the mixture of BACs extract and chitosan may increase the efficiency of the apoptosis of cancer cells while reducing the undesired side effects.

Marigold flower is a traditionally used plant material topically applied on the skin due to its anti-inflammatory properties and antibacterial activity. This potential of action justifies the implementation of marigold extract in nanofiber scaffolds based on poly-vinylpyrrolidone/hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (PVP/HPβCD) and polycaprolactone/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PCL/PVP) obtained by electrospinning for wound treatment. Using SEM, the morphology of electrospun scaffolds showed a fiber diameter in the range of 298-527 nm, with a uniform and bead-free appearance.

Some drawbacks of aqueous electrolytes, such as freezing at low temperatures and extensive evaporation at high temperatures, restrict their industrial viability. This article introduces a stabilized neutral aqueous choline nitrate electrolyte with a 10 vol.% methanol additive that improves the temperature stability of the electrolyte via enhanced hydrogen bonding with the choline cation and water and maintains the good state of health of the supercapacitor cells under extreme operating conditions.
