Our study aimed to present the diagnostic trends related to salivary IgA in health and disease based on a bibliometric analysis of published papers between 2009 and 2024.

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive, deadly lung disease with several factors, including respiratory tract infections (RTI), for disease worsening. BACKGROUND Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)-associated Vulvar Squamous Cell Carcinomas (VSCC) present more frequently in young women than HPV- independent tumors. Due to its association with HPV infection, the incidence of vulvar cancer is increasing in young women; however, during pregnancy, it is still extremely rare. CASE REPORT We present the case of a 36-year-old pregnant woman at 23 weeks of pregnancy, diagnosed with HPV 16-associated VSCC, Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage IB.

Correlation between endometriosis and migraine headache - a review of literature.

Objective: Aim: Endometriosis and migraine are common diseases that share many features, and their co-occurrence is the subject of numerous studies. Nevertheless, there is no effective treatment for these diseases and diagnosis is often delayed. This review aims to present correlations between these conditions, which can improve diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Timely diagnosis of heart failure (HF) in patients with a systemic right ventricle (sRV) is difficult but important since clinical deterioration is fast once HF develops. We aimed to compare echocardiography and biomarker profile between sRV patients with and without HF and patients with a systemic left ventricle diagnosed with HF (sLV-HF).

Methods And Results: Eighty-seven sRV patients and 30 sLV-HF patients underwent echocardiographic evaluation and blood sampling.

MicroRNAs as Biomarkers for Metabolic Disorders in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): A Review.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is associated with several mild metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance (IR), obesity, and dyslipidemia, as well as with some more severe ones, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and cardiovascular disease. Clinically, mild metabolic complications of PCOS such as IR or lipid metabolism disorders are the predictors of these more severe ones. So far, there is no reliable single marker that enables defining metabolic risk in patients with PCOS.

Background: Group A Streptococci (GAS) may cause infections of the pharynx and soft tissues and invasive infections in children (iGAS). A significant increase in severe iGAS infections has been reported in Europe since the fall of 2022.

Objectives: This retrospective study aims to analyse clinical data of children with invasive and non-invasive GAS infections in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, searching for predisposing factors to developing invasive infections.

The discontinuation of futile therapy is increasingly discussed in Polish clinical practice. Given the need to ensure patient well-being, it is essential to consider whether all clinical options resulting from medical progress should be used for every patient and on what grounds decisions to limit therapy should be based. The aim of our study was to determine the opinions of Polish medical doctors on this topic.

This special issue of the Journal of Experimental Gerontology explores the dynamic interplay between microbiomes and aging-related conditions. The four selected studies highlight the role of microbiota in Alzheimer's disease, cancer immunotherapy, myocardial infarction and tryptophan metabolism, providing insights into how microbiomes influence health and disease in aging. These studies underscore the potential for microbiome-targeted interventions to mitigate aging-related disorders and improve the quality of life for older adults.

Methods: A 30-question online survey was emailed to European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) ophthalmology section delegates, European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma (EBOD) examiners and presidents of ophthalmology societies affiliated with UEMS/EBO.

Introduction: An expert panel of the Section of Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology of the Polish Neurological Society has developed principles for the management of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD). These principles are based on expert opinion and data from the literature published up to May 2023. Recommendations were developed based on the results of the most recent clinical trials, guidelines of foreign and international scientific societies, and the authors' clinical experience.
