Pain disorders are the primary cause of disability nowadays. These disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA), cause loss of function, joint pain and inflammation and deteriorate the quality of life. The treatment of these inflammatory diseases includes anti-inflammatory drugs administered via intra-articular, topical or oral routes, physical rehabilitation or surgery.

Across India, there have been multiple studies conducted to address the issues of the mental health of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The present study estimated the pooled prevalence of psychological morbidity among healthcare workers during the early phase of the COVID 19 pandemic in India. We searched the following electronic bibliographic databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley online library, and Google scholar for studies conducted from the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic until 25 September 2021.

Objective: To provide the regional pediatric cancer (age-group 0-14 years) burden and pattern in India utilizing published data of population-based cancer registries established under the National Cancer Registry Programme and Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.
Methods: Based on the geographic locations, the population-based cancer registries were categorized into six regions. The age-specific incidence rate was calculated using the number of pediatric cancer cases and population in the respective age-group.

Purpose: To validate Grobman's nomogram for prediction of trial of labour after caesarean section (TOLAC) success in the Indian population.
Methods: A prospective observational study of women with previous lower segment caesarean sections (LSCS) who were admitted for TOLAC between January 2019 and June 2020 at a tertiary care hospital We compared the Grobman's predicted VBAC success probability to the observed VBAC rate in the study population and devised a receiver-operator characteristics (ROC) curve for the nomogram.
Results: Among the 124 women with prior LSCS who chose TOLAC and were included in the study, 68 (54.

Host derived serum proteome stabilised red-emitting gold quantum clusters (or Au-QC-NanoSera or QCNS) of size range ~2 nm have been synthesised in a first reported study. The host serum was taken from bovine, murine and human origins to establish the proof of concept. biocompatibility with normal murine L929 fibroblast cells and radiosensitisation ability against PLC/PRF/5 hepatoma cells was established.

The study was conceived with the hypothesis that human aerobic gut flora could act as a reservoir of ß-lactamases and contribute to the emergence of ß-lactam resistance by transferring ß-lactamase genes to resident anaerobes. Thus, we studied the repertoire of ß-lactam resistance determinants (ß-lactamases associated with aerobes and anaerobes) in Gram-negative anaerobes. The phenotypic resistance against ß-lactams and the presence of aerobic and anaerobic ß-lactamases were tested in Gram-negative anaerobic isolates (n = 200) by agar dilution method and targeted PCR, respectively.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused havoc all around the world. The causative agent of COVID-19 is the novel form of the coronavirus (CoV) named SARS-CoV-2, which results in immune system disruption, increased inflammation, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). T cells have been important components of the immune system, which decide the fate of the COVID-19 disease.

The immune response elicited by the current COVID-19 vaccinations declines with time, especially among the immunocompromised population. Furthermore, the emergence of novel SARS-CoV-2 variants, particularly the Omicron variant, has raised serious concerns about the efficacy of currently available vaccines in protecting the most vulnerable people. Several studies have reported that vaccinated people get breakthrough infections amid COVID-19 cases.

Effects of injection rate and tumor physiology on the diffusion of magnetic nano-particles (MNPs) and temperature profile during magnetic hyperthermia are investigated in this work. The study considers three injection rates (2.5 μL/min, 10 μL/min, and 40 μL/min), and two MNP diffusion coefficients (10 m/s and 10 m/s).

Rationale And Objective: To assess the impact of radial percentage k-space filling and signal averaging on lung MRI image quality in 3D radial ultrashort echo-time (UTE) acquisition.
Materials And Methods: In this IRB approved prospective study, 25 patients (10-30 years) referred for MRI examination for indications other than related to lungs were enrolled from January 2021 to November 2021. All the patients underwent lung MRI, using three different UTE sequence parameters with radial (R) percentage of 100 or 200 and number of signal averages (NSA) of one or two.

Typhoid fever is an acute illness caused by Salmonella Typhi and the current diagnostic gap leads to inaccurate, over-diagnosis of typhoid leading to excessive use of antibiotics. Herein, to address the challenges we describe a new rapid color-shift assay based on a novel bifunctional nanobioprobe (Vi-AgNP probe) that is functionalized with specific biomarker Vi polysaccharide and also has the co-presence of Ag as urease inhibitor. The immunoreactions between the Vi with specific antibodies (Abs) present in typhoid patient sample forms a shielding barrier over Vi-AgNP probe rendering the urease to be active, generating colored output.

Purpose: The current study aimed to report cases of McCune Albright syndrome (MAS) with growth hormone (GH) hyper secretion along with a systematic review of literature to elucidate challenges and intricacies in its diagnosis and management.
Methods: It was a single centre study carried out in individuals with MAS and autonomous GH secretion (AGHS). In addition, a systematic search of literature across three databases (PubMed, Scopus and EMBASE) was performed from inception until May 31, 2021 to identify cases of MAS with AGHS in the pediatric age group (<18 years).

Impulse control disorders (ICDs) are less-emphasized adverse effects of dopamine agonists. Evidence on prevalence and predictors of ICDs in patients with prolactinomas is limited and confined chiefly to cross-sectional studies. This was a prospective study performed to investigate ICDs in treatment-naïve patients with macroprolactinomas (n = 15) using cabergoline (Group I), compared to consecutive patients of nonfunctioning pituitary macroadenomas (n = 15) (Group II).

Reservoirs of HIV remain a major obstacle to the complete eradication of virus despite regular anti-retroviral therapy (ART). Memory stem cells (Tscm), one of the major reservoirs, are relatively less studied owing to their presence in lower numbers and inaccessible anatomical locations. We have evaluated the molecular characteristics of Tscms in patients with ART interruption (n = 15) versus patients on uninterrupted ART (n = 12) using flow cytometry.

Purpose: Tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as sunitinib and pazopanib are the mainstay of treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) in India. However, pembrolizumab and nivolumab have shown significant improvement in the median progression-free survival and overall survival among patients with mRCC. In this study, we aimed to determine the cost-effectiveness of the first-line treatment options for the patients with mRCC in India.

In parallel to the continuous rise of new cancer cases all over the world, the interest of scientific community in natural anticancer agents has steadily been increased. In the past decades, numerous phytochemicals have been shown to possess a strong anticancer potential in preclinical conditions. One of such interesting compounds, derived from different plants such as ginkgo, hinoki, and St.
