Introduction: Rape is a severe violation involving non-consensual sexual acts, often accompanied by force, threats, or coercion, leading to profound physical, emotional, and social consequences for survivors.

Aim: This review aims to examine and synthesize research on effective strategies for rape prevention and intervention, with a particular focus on social control mechanisms, legal frameworks, cultural change, educational programs, public awareness campaigns, community vigilance, victim support services, and the influence of digital media.

Methodology: A comprehensive review was conducted by searching PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO, and Google Scholar for peer-reviewed articles, policy papers, and reports from the past 20 years.

Decadal trends in the exclusive breastfeeding practices among working Indian mothers: a multi-level analysis.

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is defined as feeding infants only breast milk of the mother or a wet nurse for the first six months, without additional food or liquids except the oral rehydration solution or drops/syrups of vitamins, minerals or medicines. The working status of women in developed countries adversely affects the EBF rates, which calls for an assessment in rapidly developing countries like India. Therefore, the primary aim of the present study is to determine the prevalence of EBF using the data from the National Family Health Surveys (NFHS 3, 4, 5) conducted between 2005 and 06, 2015-16 and 2019-21 to estimate the likelihood EBF according to mothers' employment status.

Cost-effectiveness of FRAX®-based intervention thresholds for management of osteoporosis in Indian women: a Markov microsimulation model analysis.

Unlabelled: A cost-effectiveness analysis of FRAX® intervention thresholds (ITs) in Indian women over 50 years indicated that generic alendronate was cost-effective for age-dependent major osteoporotic fracture (MOF) ITs and hip fracture (HF) ITs starting at ages 60 and 65 years for full and real-world adherence, respectively. Alendronate was cost-effective at fixed MOF IT of 14% and HF IT of 3.5%, regardless of age.

Healthcare providers have an important role in the counselling of the patients undergoing cataract surgery in clearing all their doubts thus alleviating all their fears and anxiety related to the procedure which will eventually lead to faster and smoother visual rehabilitation. Using standardised communication techniques like CICARE combined with conventional nursing and pain scoring systems can provide an objective and effective method in patient counselling and building a rapport with the patient for a faster visual recovery.

Flexibility in Surgical Training Does Not Affect American Board of Surgery Board Eligibility or Certification: Long-term Outcomes from a Prospective, Multi-Institutional Study of General Surgery Residents.

Objective: In 2011, the American Board of Surgery (ABS) implemented a policy to permit greater flexibility in the structure of general surgery (GS) residency training. Our goal was to investigate the impact of flexibility in surgical training (FIST) on resident success in obtaining ABS board eligibility and certification.

Design: A prospective, multi-institutional study was conducted to examine the feasibility of incorporating flexibility tracks across residency programs and measure educational outcomes including ABS In-service Training Exam (ABSITE) scores, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Milestones, operative case log volumes, and ABS Qualifying (QE) and Certifying (CE) Examinations scores.

Sustained myocardial hypertrophy or left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) triggered by pressure overload is strongly linked to adverse cardiovascular outcomes. Here, we investigated the clinical relationship between serum HSP90α (an isoform of HSP90) levels and LVH in patients with hypertension or aortic stenosis (AS) and explored underlying mechanisms in pressure overload mouse model. We built a pressure overload mouse model via transverse aortic constriction (TAC).

A Case Series of Adult Measles from a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India.

Measles or rubeola is caused by an enveloped single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Morbillivirus in the Paramyxoviridae family. Here, we present five adult measles patients. Methods: Nasal swabs collected from January 2021 to June 2024 were screened to detect hMPV using reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Furthermore, representative positive samples were sequenced and subjected to phylogenetic analysis.

Intravitreal therapy for the management of diabetic retinopathy: A concise review.

Primary anaplastic extramedullary plasmacytoma in the lacrimal sac.

We report the case of a 60-year-old man diagnosed with unilateral, solitary, extramedullary plasmacytoma located in the right lacrimal sac fossa, with no systemic involvement. This rare plasma cell dyscrasia is usually found in the respiratory tract. Clinical and radiological features of the mass and histopathological results are described.

The t(9;11) reciprocal translocation (p22;q23) generates MLL-AF9 oncogene, which results in myeloid-based monoblastic AML with frequent relapse and poor survival. MLL-AF9 binds with the C-Myb promoter and regulates AML onset, maintenance, and survival.
