Statement Of Problem: The type of veneer preparation is often chosen according to the patient's tooth structure and occlusion. Taking biomechanics into account in this decision-making process provides the clinician with more technical information on how to improve the clinical longevity of restorations. However, biomechanical analyses of veneer preparation designs are sparse.

Surgical excision of solid tumors is required for local control of neoplasms. However, surgical trauma can stimulate the release of proangiogenic growth factors, suppressing cell-mediated immunity and favoring the development of micrometastases and progression of residual disease. The present study aimed to evaluate the intensity of the metabolic response to trauma induced via unilateral mastectomy in bitches with mammary neoplasia, the consequences of its joint performance with ovariohysterectomy, and their respective effects on the organic response.

Several protocols have been used with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacture (CAD-CAM) prostheses after image-guided implant surgery based on a prosthetically driven surgical plan. For delayed approaches, a CAD-CAM custom healing abutment can be manufactured before the surgery and installed immediately after implant placement. However, information on the use of emergence profile segmentation on which to base the digital design and on the use of low-cost 3-dimensional printers to produce custom healing abutments are lacking.

Objective: To evaluate the failure probability and stress distribution of traditional and bioinspired porcelain-zirconia milled crowns, with and without silica infiltration (graded zirconia).
Methods: Traditional crown design had a zirconia infrastructure veneered with porcelain; Bioinspired, had a porcelain infrastructure with translucent-zirconia veneer; Graded and Graded Bioinspired crowns had their zirconia layer infiltrated by silica (n = 25). The cameo surface of each crown (porcelain or zirconia) was glazed.

The crisis caused by COVID-19 has affected research in a variety of ways. As far as research on sustainable development is concerned, the lockdown has significantly disrupted the usual communication channels and, among other things, has led to the cancellation of meetings and long-planned events. It has also led to delay in the delivery of research projects.

Objective: The objective is to report recent data on the infection and detection of Zika virus in infertile couples and to discuss the need to make disease surveillance compulsory in this population in order to decrease the burden on the healthcare system and expedite treatment onset.
Methods: We collected and analyzed the results of Zika virus infection screening tests of infertile couples in a private clinic in the low-incidence region of Curitiba - Brazil.
Results: Among the 1189 serologies performed, 98.
The difficulty in the regeneration of cardiomyocytes after myocardial infarction is a major cause of heart failure. Together, the amniotic membrane and 15-deoxy-Δ12,14-prostaglandin J2 (15d-PGJ) can help in the recovery of cardiomyocyte, as they present many growth factors and anti-inflammatory effect, respectively. The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of Human Decellularized Amniotic Membrane Scaffold (AHAS) loaded with 15d-PGJ in improving ventricular function in a rat model of postinfarct ventricular dysfunction.

Objective: Achilles tendon pathologies occur frequently and have a significant socioeconomic impact. Currently, there is no evidence on the best treatment for these pathologies. Cell therapy has been studied in several animal models, and encouraging results have been observed with respect to tissue regeneration.

White spot lesions are one of the concerns during the fixed orthodontic treatment. Thus, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the antimicrobial/anti-inflammatory effect of curcumin-photodynamic antimicrobial chemotherapy (c-PACT) and chlorhexidine varnish on the plaque accumulation and gingival bleeding in adolescents under fixed orthodontic treatment. A randomized clinical trial was performed with an initial number of 45 patients being distributed into three groups: group I-chlorhexidine varnish 2%, group II-placebo varnish, and group III-c-PACT (curcumin at 1.

This article describe a rare case of multiple taurodontism involving all molars in a 17-year-old male. Volumetric cone-beam computed tomography was used to investigate internal and external root morphology, including that of a maxillary first molar which required endodontic treatment and retreatment. Medical history was not contributory; however, Klinefelter syndrome was the diagnostic hypothesis in this case.

The treatment of Miller class III gingival recession is considered a challenge in periodontal practice, and among the different techniques used, autogenous connective tissue graft has shown the most favorable results. In some cases, more than one procedure may be necessary. In this case report, we describe the simultaneous application of a combination of three techniques (the tunnel technique, a connective tissue graft and a laterally positioned flap) to treat a Miller class III gingival recession localized in the lower anterior region.

The success of endodontic treatment depends on the identification of all root canals so that they can be cleaned, shaped, and obturated. This study investigated internal morphology of maxillary first molars by 3 different methods: ex vivo, clinical, and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) analysis. In all these different methods, the number of additional root canals and their locations, the number of foramina, and the frequency of canals that could or could not be negotiated were recorded.
