Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a malignancy caused by the overexpression of the anti-apoptotic protein B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL-2), making it a critical therapeutic target. This study integrates computational screening, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics to identify and validate novel BCL-2 inhibitors from the ChEMBL database. Starting with 836 BCL-2 inhibitors, we performed ADME and Lipinski's Rule of Five (RO5) filtering, clustering, maximum common substructure (MCS) analysis, and machine learning models (Random Forest, SVM, and ANN), yielding a refined set of 124 compounds.

As one of the most common solid pediatric cancers, Neuroblastoma (NBL) accounts for 15% of all of the cancer-related mortalities in infants with increasing incidence all around the world. Despite current therapeutic approaches for NBL (radiotherapies, surgeries, and chemotherapies), these approaches could not be beneficial for all of patients with NBL due to their low effectiveness, and some severe side effects. These challenges lead basic medical scientists and clinical specialists toward an optimal medical interventions for clinical management of NBL.

Introduction Fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) have the potential in glaucoma management to improve efficacy due to the complementary mechanism of action of the drugs as well as compliance while reducing adverse effects by minimizing exposure to preservatives and the financial burden on the patients. FDC of brinzolamide/timolol has demonstrated efficacy and safety in multinational phase 3 studies in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and ocular hypertension. However, efficacy and safety in the Indian population are not known.

We report an unusual presentation of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) cutaneous perianal ulcerative lesion in a patient with severe immunosuppression. A 43-year-old male presented with perianal ulcer along with bleeding and pain while passing stools. On biopsy, the ulcer showed typical histopathological features of CMV infection with involvement of endothelial cells.

The human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is closely associated with the development and progression of breast cancer, making it a critical target for therapeutic interventions. In this study, we employed a comprehensive computational drug discovery strategy to identify potential inhibitors of HER2. Our approach combined virtual screening, re-docking procedures, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, and free energy landscape analysis using principal component analysis (PCA).

There is limited real-world data from India examining the treatment characteristics, safety, and efficacy of ceftazidime-avibactam against Gram-negative organisms especially multidrug-resistant pathogens including carbapenem-resistant and carbapenem-resistant . In this retrospective study, the real-world treatment patterns, effectiveness, and safety of ceftazidime-avibactam in treating Gram-negative infections were assessed. Data was extracted from electronic health records of adult patients admitted to the hospital with documented Gram-negative infection who had received treatment for at least 48 hours with ceftazidime-avibactam as a part of routine clinical management.

During antiretroviral therapy (ART), most people living with HIV-1 have undetectable HIV-1 RNA in their plasma. However, they occasionally present with new or progressive neurologic deficits and detectable HIV-1 RNA in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), a condition defined as neurosymptomatic HIV-1 CSF escape (NSE). We explored the source of neuropathogenesis and HIV-1 RNA in the CSF during NSE by characterizing HIV-1 populations and inflammatory biomarkers in CSF from 25 individuals with NSE.

NUDIX hydrolase 5 (NUDT5) is an enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of nucleoside diphosphates linked to other moieties, such as ADP-ribose. This cofactor is vital in redox reactions and is essential for the activity of sirtuins and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases, which are involved in DNA repair and genomic stability. It has been shown that NUDT5 activity can also influence NAD+ homeostasis, thereby affecting cancer cell metabolism and survival.

Background: Alzheimer's disease is a serious and widespread neurodegenerative illness in the modern healthcare scenario. GSK-3β and BuChE are prominent enzymatic targets associated with Alzheimer's disease. Co-targeting GSK3β and BChE in Alzheimer's disease helps to modify disease progression and enhance cognitive function by addressing both tau pathology and cholinergic deficits.

Background: Sepsis-linked biomarkers and inflammatory cytokines are markedly associated with potential risks of progression to severity in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Clinical studies that find a plausible association between sepsis biomarkers and the inflammatory cytokine response in the Indian community need to be studied with clarity.
Objectives: To study the relationship between sepsis-linked biomarkers and inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), ferritin, and D-dimer linked to clinical severity resulting from COVID-19 infection.

Barany Society includes bilateral typical posterior semicircular canal benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (PSC-BPPV) in its classification of multicanal subtype. In the past decade, less-common and atypical subtypes of PSC-BPPV, like short-arm and non-ampullary arm posterior semicircular canalolithiasis, have emerged, requiring the conduct of conventional and auxiliary positional tests on both sides to uncover their bilaterality. Authors hereby report three atypical less-common subtypes of bilateral PSC-BPPV, discussing their clinicodemographic profiles, management by repositioning maneuvers and physical therapy, and follow up.

Chemotherapy resistance remains a significant challenge in treating ovarian cancer effectively. This study addresses this issue by utilizing a dual drug-loaded nanomicelle system comprising albendazole (ABZ) and paclitaxel (PTX), encapsulated in a novel carrier matrix of D-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate vitamin E (TPGS), soluplus and folic acid. Our objective was to develop and optimize this nanoparticulate delivery system using solvent evaporation techniques to enhance the therapeutic efficacy against ovarian cancer.
