Formulation of an innovative model for the bioeconomy.

PLoS One

November 2024

Postgraduate in Agri-Food Science and Technology, Autonomous University of Chapingo, National Council of Science and Technology, Texcoco, Mexico.

Background: The bioeconomy, an evolving concept promoting sustainable use of renewable biological resources, confronts the challenge of balancing growth and sustainability across sectors like biotechnology, agriculture, and forestry. This study aims to elucidate the bioeconomy's dynamic nature, constructing a comprehensive theoretical model addressing these complexities.

Methodology: Through an extensive literature review, foundational elements for this model were identified: defining the core concept, delineating relevant variables, specifying assumptions and parameters, and depicting relationships through equations or diagrams.

To derive a latent trait (for instance ) in a computer adaptive testing (CAT) framework, the obtained results from a model must have a direct relationship to the examinees' response to a set of items presented. The set of items is previously calibrated to decide which item to present to the examinee in the next evaluation question. Some useful models are more naturally based on conditional probability in order to involve previously obtained hits/misses.

The Mezquital Valley (MV), Mexico, is a semi-arid region whose main economic activity is agriculture, this zone is characterized by the use of wastewater for crop irrigation. This condition has increased the amount nutrients in soils, organic carbon content and native microorganisms. The Streptomyces species are a group of saprophytic bacteria that represent between 20 and 60% of the total microbial population in soils, capable of producing metabolites of commercial importance.

June 2020

Agrobiotechnology Laboratory, Polytechnic University of Pachuca, Carretera Pachuca-Cd. Sahagún, Km 20, ExHacienda De Santa Bárbara, C.P. 43830, Zempoala, Hidalgo, Mexico.

In this work was to evaluate the conidiospores production of using barley straw as substrate. Four growth conditions were used; washed and unwashed barley straw and washed and unwashed barley straw supplemented with mineral salts. The highest spore production was observed when washed barley straw supplemented with mineral salts with 1.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has a covert nature in its early stages that could postpone its diagnosis. Early diagnosis can reduce or prevent the progression of renal damage. The present study introduces an expert medical decision support system (MDSS) based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to predict the timeframe of renal failure.

November 2018

Division of Environmental Engineering Technology of Higher Studies of East Mexico State, Mexico City, Mexico.

Fungal laccase enzymes have a great biotechnological potential for bioremediation processes due to their ability to degrade compounds such as ρ-diphenol, aminophenols, polyphenols, polyamines, and aryldiamines. These enzymes have activity at different pH and temperature values, however, high temperatures can cause partial or total loss of enzymatic activity, so it is appropriate to do research to modify their secondary and/or tertiary structure to make them more resistant to extreme temperature conditions. , a structure of the Lacc 6 enzyme of was constructed using a laccase of as a template.
