The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability of aesthetic restorative resin-matrix materials after their immersion in different dietary and therapeutic solutions. Thirty disc-shaped specimens (10 × 2 mm) were prepared from three different types of resin-matrix composites used in dentistry (BE, FS, AF). The color coordinates (L*a*b*, ΔL*, Δa*, Δa*, Δb* and ΔE*) were measured using a VITA Easyshade 3D-Master (VITA Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany) before and after the immersion of the specimens in coffee, red wine, Coca-Cola, Eludril Care, and distilled water solutions for 40 h.

The increase in the number of pets in recent years has been followed by an exponential growth of the industrial pet food sector, which has been accompanied by new food safety risks, namely antibiotic resistance. The aim of this study was to investigate whether dog food commercially available in Portugal is a reservoir of clinically-relevant antibiotic resistant Enterococcus. Fifty-five samples (25 brands; 22 wet, 14 raw frozen, 8 dry, 7 treats and 4 semi-wet) were collected on 9 commercial surfaces in the Porto region (September 2019 to January 2020).

Enzymes, receptors, and other binding molecules in biological processes can recognize enantiomers as different molecular entities, due to their different dissociation constants, leading to diverse responses in biological processes. Enantioselectivity can be observed in drugs pharmacodynamics and in pharmacokinetic (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion), especially in metabolic profile and in toxicity mechanisms. The stereoisomers of a drug can undergo to different metabolic pathways due to different enzyme systems, resulting in different types and/or number of metabolites.

Most cancer biologists still rely on conventional two-dimensional (2D) monolayer culture techniques to test in vitro anti-tumor drugs prior to in vivo testing. However, the vast majority of promising preclinical drugs have no or weak efficacy in real patients with tumors, thereby delaying the discovery of successful therapeutics. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) mediate intercellular signaling and communication, allowing the intercellular exchange of proteins, lipids, and genetic material.
