Fc receptor-like (FCRL) genes play a role in the immune system by encoding proteins that function as receptors on the surface of immune cells. The clinical significance of FCRL gene expression in Graves' Disease (GD) and Graves' Orbitopathy (GO) remains unclear. We evaluated the expression of FCRL 2, 3, 4 mRNA in patients with GD and GO and its role in the development and activity of these diseases.

Unlabelled: Cardiovascular diseases, which are the leading cause of death in Croatia, are linked to the high prevalence of hypertension. Both are associated with high salt intake, which was determined almost two decades ago when Croatian Action on Salt and Health (CRASH) was launched. The main objective of the present study was to evaluate salt, potassium, and iodine intake using a single 24 h urine sample in a random sample of the adult Croatian population and to analyse trends in salt consumption after the CRASH was intensively started.

Although the introduction of drugs targeting calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) revolutionized migraine treatment, still a substantial proportion of migraine patients do not respond satisfactorily to such a treatment, and new therapeutic targets are needed. Therefore, molecular studies on migraine pathogenesis are justified. Oxidative stress is implicated in migraine pathogenesis, as many migraine triggers are related to the production of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS).

Open-source artificial intelligence models (OSAIMs) are increasingly being applied in various fields, including IT and medicine, offering promising solutions for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. In response to the growing interest in AI for clinical diagnostics, we evaluated several OSAIMs-such as ChatGPT 4, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, PopAi, You Chat, Claude, and the specialized PMC-LLaMA 13B-assessing their abilities to classify scoliosis severity and recommend treatments based on radiological descriptions from AP radiographs. Our study employed a two-stage methodology, where descriptions of single-curve scoliosis were analyzed by AI models following their evaluation by two independent neurosurgeons.

Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) inhibits growth hormone (GH) intracellular signaling for the insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) synthesis via the janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription proteins (STATs) pathway. The aim of this study was to compare SIRT1 concentrations in children with GH deficiency (GHD) and so-called idiopathic short stature (ISS, non-GH deficient), in order to determine the possible impact of changes in serum SIRT1 concentrations on the GH-IGF-1 axis. The study group included 100 short-stature children: 38 with GHD and 62 with ISS (maxGH in two stimulation tests <10 and ≥10 ng/mL, respectively).
