Objective: This study aimed to compare two commercially available off the shelf branched endografts for thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair, namely the E-nside (Artivion) and Zenith t-Branch (Cook Medical) devices.
Methods: This multicentre retrospective study (2020 - 2023) included patients treated by branched endovascular aortic repair (BEVAR) for TAAA using the inner branched E-nside or the outer branched t-Branch. Endpoints were 30 day technical success and major adverse events (MAEs) as well as one year freedom from target vessel instability and main endograft instability.

Background: The treatment paradigm for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) has shifted towards minimally invasive pyeloplasty. A comparison Single Port (SP) and Multi Port (MP) robot-assisted pyeloplasty (RAP) was performed.
Methods: Data from consecutive patients undergoing SP RAP or MP RAP between January 2021 and September 2023 were collected and analysed.

Background: Several earlier studies showed a female predominance in idiopathic adult-onset dystonia (IAOD) affecting the craniocervical area and a male preponderance in limb dystonia. However, sex-related differences may result from bias inherent to study design. Moreover, information is lacking on whether sex-related differences exist in expressing other dystonia-associated features and dystonia spread.

Background: Blood pressure has become one of the most important vital signs to monitor in the perioperative setting. Recently, the Italian Society of Anesthesia Analgesia Resuscitation and Intensive Care (SIAARTI) recommended, with low level of evidence, continuous monitoring of blood pressure during the intraoperative period. Continuous monitoring allows for early detection of hypotension, which may potentially lead to a timely treatment.

Background: Antagonists of glycoprotein VI-triggered platelet activation used in combination with recanalisation therapies are a promising therapeutic approach in acute ischaemic stroke. Glenzocimab is an antibody fragment that inhibits the action of platelet glycoprotein VI. We aimed to determine and assess the safety and efficacy of the optimal dose of glenzocimab in patients with acute ischaemic stroke eligible to receive alteplase with or without mechanical thrombectomy.

Earlier treatment intensification with systemic potent androgen receptor inhibition has been shown to improve clinical outcomes in metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer. Nonetheless, oligometastatic patients may benefit from local treatment approaches such as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Aiming to explore the benefit of SBRT in this scenario, we designed this trial to specifically test the hypothesis that SBRT will improve clinical outcomes in select population affected by metachronous oligometastatic HSPC treated with androgen deprivation therapy + apalutamide.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an idiopathic, autoimmune connective tissue disorder that primarily affects the synovial joints, causing symmetric, erosive-deforming polyarthritis. It is also associated with extra-articular manifestations, particularly cardiovascular (CV) diseases (CVD). CV risk modification in RA remains unsolved despite recent advances in the management of RA.

Purpose: To analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of the use of an intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided re-entry catheter (IGRC) for femoropopliteal chronic total occlusions (FP-CTOs) after a failed anterograde approach compared with the bidirectional approach without the IGRC.
Materials And Methods: Between June 2019 and December 2022, an IGRC (Pioneer Plus; Philips Volcano, San Diego, California) was used in 52 patients after failure of conventional recanalization techniques (Group A). In the same period, 48 patients who were also eligible for IGRC use were treated without IGRC using the bidirectional approach (Group B).

With the rapid development of stem cell research in modern times, stem cell-based therapy has opened a new era of tissue regeneration, becoming one of the most promising strategies for currently untreatable retinal diseases. Among the various sources of stem cells, adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) have emerged as a promising therapeutic modality due to their characteristics and multiple functions, which include immunoregulation, anti-apoptosis of neurons, cytokine and growth factor secretion, and antioxidative activities. Studies have shown that ADSCs can facilitate the replacement of dying cells, promote tissue remodeling and regeneration, and support the survival and growth of retinal cells.

Background: Anaesthesiologists deliver an increasing amount of patient care and often work long hours in operating theatres and intensive care units, with frequent on-calls and insufficient rest in between. In the long term, this will negatively influence mental and physical health and well being. As fatigue becomes more prevalent, this has predictable implications for patient safety and clinical effectiveness.

Introduction: Shared vehicles, such as e-scooters and electric bicycles, could potentially accelerate the transition toward sustainable mobility. Focusing on e-scooters, the aim of this study is to show, compared with previous years when e-scooter use was significantly reduced, the increased incidence of maxillofacial bone injuries from e-scooters and the most frequent type of fractures.
Methods: We conducted a monocentric observational retrospective and prospective analysis during the pandemic, from January 1, 2020, until December 31, 2022, on patients' access for maxillofacial traumas at the San Giovanni Addolorata emergency department, trauma hub center, for Lazio district.

Purpose Of Review: To discuss recent advances in the treatment of advanced urothelial carcinoma (UC) and how best to incorporate new therapies into clinical practice.
Recent Findings: There have been several recent practice-changing phase 2 and 3 trials of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and targeted agents in advanced UC. Based on data from these trials, ICIs can be used as first-line maintenance therapy in patients who do not progress on platinum-based chemotherapy, second-line therapy for those with progression, and first-line therapy in cisplatin-ineligible patients with PD-L1 expression; ADCs and targeted agents provide later-line treatment options.

The combination of atezolizumab and nab-paclitaxel is recommended in the EU as first-line treatment for PD-L1-positive metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC), based on the results of phase III IMpassion130 trial. However, 'real-world' data on this combination are limited. The ANASTASE study (NCT05609903) collected data on atezolizumab plus nab-paclitaxel in PD-L1-positive mTNBC patients enrolled in the Italian Compassionate Use Program.

Many women with bipolar disorder experience episodes of illness or relapses over the perinatal period, especially in the immediate postpartum period. Risks associated with treated/untreated psychopathologies and fetal exposure to bipolar medications make the management of bipolar disorder during these periods challenging for clinicians and patients. In light of the available effectiveness and reproductive safety data, the current clinical update based on the opinions of a group of international perinatal psychiatry authors recommends general considerations and specific management strategies for each possible clinical scenario, including mixed features, predominant polarity, diagnosis of subtypes of bipolar disorder, severity of previous episodes, and risk of recurrence of mood episodes.

Background And Aims: Statins are mainstream drugs for cardiovascular (CV) prevention, but under-prescription is an important clinical challenge. Data on the use of single statins and on the rate of under-prescription in atrial fibrillation (AF) are lacking. We evaluated the association of statin underuse with mortality risk in a large AF cohort.
