Aims: Right bundle branch block (RBBB) morphology non-sustained ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) have been associated with the presence of non-ischaemic left ventricular scar (NLVS) in athletes. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to identify clinical and electrocardiogram (ECG) predictors of the presence of NLVS in athletes with RBBB VAs.

Background: Preterm infants born between 33 and 35 weeks of gestational age (wGA) have been considered a "major underserved population" and ineligible to receive palivizumab (PLV), the only drug authorized to date for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) prophylaxis, by current international guidelines. In Italy, such a vulnerable population is currently eligible for prophylaxis, and, in our region, specific risk factors are taken into consideration (SIN score) to target prophylaxis for those at highest risk. Whether the adoption of less or more restrictive eligibility criteria for PLV prophylaxis would translate into differences in bronchiolitis and hospitalization incidence is not known.

Background: His bundle pacing (HBP) may be a challenging procedure, often involving a long fluoroscopic time (FT) and a long procedural time (PT). We sought to evaluate whether the use of a new nonfluroscopic mapping (NFM) system, the KODEX-EPD, is able to reduce FT and PT when mapping is performed by the pacing catheter rather than an electrophysiological mapping catheter.

Methods And Results: We included 46 consecutive patients (77 ± 8 years; 63% male) who underwent HBP; in 22 a NFM-guided procedure with the KODEX-EPD system was performed (group 1), whereas in 24 a conventional fluoroscopy-guided approach was used (group 2).

The authors present a case report showing their experience with the use of PolyEtherEtherKetone (PEEK) implants as an innovative solution for the skeleton and soft tissues' reshaping in facial aesthetic plastic surgery. The recent viral pandemic in Wuhan, Hubei, China has led to the identification of a new species of beta-coronavirus, able to infect humans, the 2019-nCoV, later named SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 causes a clinical syndrome named COVID-19, which presents with a spectrum of symptoms ranging from mild upper respiratory tract infection to severe pneumonia, with acute respiratory distress syndrome and frequent death. All age groups are susceptible to the infection, but children, especially infants, seem to be partially spared, having a more favorable clinical course than other age groups.

Objectives: To improve identification of fetal growth restriction (FGR) by means of umbilical venous flow (QUV) and maternal hemodynamics, including systemic vascular resistance (SVR) and cardiac output (CO), in order to distinguish between FGR and SGA.

Methods: We enrolled 68 pregnancies (36 SGA, 8 early FGR and 24 late FGR) who underwent a complete fetal hemodynamic examination including QUV and a noninvasive maternal hemodynamics assessment by means of USCOM.

Results: In comparison with SGA, QUV and corrected for estimated fetal weight QUV (cQUV) were significantly lower in early and late-FGR.

From a group of CH patients referred to our outpatient clinic at 4-6 weeks for a clinical evaluation the first consecutive 30 patients with subsequent complications (superimposed PE, abruptio placentae, uncontrolled severe hypertension with delivery <34 weeks, HELLP syndrome, FGR, perinatal death) were enrolled; the first 2 CH women with uneventful pregnancy referred after the case were enrolled as controls for a total of 60 patients.
