Background: A multicentre European randomized control trial - European Uncomplicated Type B Aortic Repair (EU-TBAR) is being developed to compare pre-emptive thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) with custom-made devices versus conventional optimal medical therapy. The pretrial set-up is confluent on different pillars, including evaluation of 1) European activity, trends, and governance; 2) outcome reporting; and 3) cost evaluation. This article aimed to demonstrate the observational cross-sectional survey results from participating centers and highlight the risk assessment, activity, practices, and governance of uncomplicated type B aortic dissection (uTBAD).

Background: Tethering is a common condition of the mitral valve apparatus in the presence of significant regurgitation. Its impact on outcomes of transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) remains poorly characterized.
Methods: We appraised the prevalence, features, procedural details, and outcomes of patients with or without mitral valve tethering in a prospective multicenter observational study.

Background: Previous meta-analyses have yielded conflicting results on the optimal surgical treatment strategy in patients with synchronous colorectal liver metastases (sCRLM). This network meta-analysis aims to provide an overview on colorectal-, liver first and simultaneous resections to treat sCRLM.
Methods: A search was conducted in MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane CENTRAL (inception-July 11,2023).

Purpose: To evaluate retrospectively the 2-year outcomes of the Gore Excluder Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis (IBE) in patients with and without coexisting hypogastric artery (HA) aneurysms in a large contemporary multicentric European experience using dedicated bridging devices.
Methods: The study included all consecutive patients treated at participating institutions with the Gore Excluder IBE device who received a covered stent (i.e.

Purpose: Single large hepatocellular carcinoma >5cm (SLHCC) traditionally requires a major liver resection. Minor resections are often performed with the goal to reduce morbidity and mortality. Aim of the study was to establish if a major resection should be considered the best treatment for SLHCC or a more limited resection should be preferred.

Background: To describe the outcomes of aortic endograft thrombosis (AET) as an indication for open conversion (OC) after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) in a multicenter experience.
Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed cases of OC for AET following EVAR across 12 Italian Vascular Surgery centers from 1997 to September 2022. The end points were as follows: 30-day mortality and major postoperative complications.

Background: Abdominal computed tomography (CT) is the standard imaging modality for detection and staging in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). Although liver magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is superior to CT in detecting small lesions, guidelines are ambiguous regarding the added value of an additional liver MRI in the surgical workup of patients with CRLM. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical added value of liver MRI in patients eligible for resection or ablation of CRLM based on CT.

Objectives: Ascending aorta (AA) dilatation in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (AV) is related both to genetic and haemodynamic factors. The aim of this study is to compare late progression of AA dilatation in bicuspid AV patients undergoing surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) versus transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
Methods: Data of 189 consecutive patients who underwent AV replacement for severe bicuspid AV stenosis were prospectively collected.

Purpose: The primary aim of this study was to assess the 3-dimensional flare geometry of the Gore Viabahn VBX balloon-expandable covered stent (BECS) after fenestrated endovascular aortic repair (FEVAR) and to determine and visualize BECS-associated complications.
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included patients who underwent FEVAR between 2018 and 2022 in 3 vascular centers participating in the VBX Expand Registry. Patients with at least one visceral artery treated with the VBX and with availability of 2 post-FEVAR computed tomography angiography (CTA) scans (follow-up [FU] 1: 0-6 months; FU2: 9-24 months) were included.

The REDISCOVER guidelines present 34 recommendations for the selection and perioperative care of borderline-resectable (BR-PDAC) and locally advanced ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas (LA-PDAC). These guidelines represent a significant shift from previous approaches, prioritizing tumor biology over anatomical features as the primary indication for resection. Condensed herein, they provide a practical management algorithm for clinical practice.

Aim: Apnoea of prematurity requires prompt intervention to prevent long-term adverse outcomes, but specific recommendations about the stimulation approach are lacking. Our study investigated the modalities of tactile stimulation for apnoea of prematurity in different settings.
Methods: In this multi-country observational prospective study, nurses and physicians of the neonatal intensive care units were asked to perform a tactile stimulation on a preterm neonatal manikin simulating an apnoea.
Introduction: The goal of the present work was to assess the incidence of dementia with onset before the age of 65 years (i.e., young-onset dementia [YOD]) and define the frequencies of young-onset Alzheimer's disease (AD), frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) in the general population.
