Subclavian artery pseudoaneurysms are rare but potentially life-threatening vascular injuries frequently associated with trauma such as clavicle fractures. In this paper we describe the case of a 49-year-old male who developed a post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the subclavian artery after a bicycle accident. The diagnosis was delayed due to non-specific symptoms and an initially missed aneurysm on computed tomography imaging.

Neovascular glaucoma is a rare and serious condition typically associated with advanced ocular or systemic vascular diseases such as central retinal vein occlusion or diabetic retinopathy. This report describes a unique case of neovascular glaucoma presenting for the first time as an initial symptom of bilateral occlusive retinal vasculitis (ORV) in a generally healthy 4-year-old girl. The aim of this study was to compare the antioxidant potential in the fruits of different hybrids of and (four hybrids) against the fruit of known cultivars of both species (-three cultivars; -five cultivars) and, using chemometric analysis, to select factors affecting the level of polyphenols and antioxidant properties. Antioxidant activity was determined using the ABTS, DPPH and FRAP tests. Chemometric analysis enabled the separation of and cultivars and classified the hybrid / R1314701 as belonging to the species.

The increasing prevalence of monocultures has reduced floral diversity, diminishing pollen diet variety for bees. This study examines the impact of monofloral pollen diets (hazel, rapeseed, pine, buckwheat, , goldenrod) on the antioxidant enzyme activities in the fat body from tergite 3, tergite 5, sternite, and hemolymph of honey bees. We show that pollen from plants such as rapeseed, , buckwheat, and goldenrod (rich in phenolic compounds and flavonoids) increases the activities of SOD, CAT, GST, and GPx in the fat body and hemolymph compared to the control group.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a disease resulting from external physical forces acting against the head, leading to transient or chronic damage to brain tissue. Primary brain injury is an immediate and, therefore, rather irreversible effect of trauma, while secondary brain injury results from a complex cascade of pathological processes, among which oxidative stress and neuroinflammation are the most prominent. As TBI is a significant cause of mortality and chronic disability, with high social costs all over the world, any form of therapy that may mitigate trauma-evoked brain damage is desirable.
