Lipid peroxidation is a major process that determines the quality of various oil samples during their use and storage, in which the primary products are hydroperoxides (HP'). HP' are very stable compounds at ambient conditions and are harmful to human health. Therefore, the evaluation of the degree of oil oxidation is an excellent tool for ensuring food safety.

The system comprises 4-nitrocatechol (4NC) as a chromogenic reagent, sulfuric acid as a complexing medium, and benzalkonium chloride (BAC) as a source of bulky cations (BA+), which readily form chloroform-extractable ion-association complexes. The impact of foreign ions and reagents was studied, and the optimal conditions for the sensitive, selective, and inexpensive determination of tungsten(VI) were identified.

An integrative approach is presented to understand the transmission mechanisms of attachment trauma and the quality of the internal working model through manifestations of bodily symptoms concerning physical and mental health. A case of dissociative symptomatology is described in a woman whose ancestors experienced individual and collective trauma related to the political regime. The approach allows for an analytical view beyond the standard complaints of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic symptoms, eating disorders, etc.

Regular toothbrushing is the primary self-care method to prevent the most common dental diseases and is considered an important public health indicator. This retrospective observational study aimed to examine cross-national time trends in adolescent toothbrushing behaviour and its association with sociodemographic factors between 1994 and 2018. We studied data from 20 countries that conducted seven surveys of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study.

Breastfeeding is essential in the first months of a newborn's life. Breast milk is a source of crucial macronutrients, prebiotic oligosaccharides, and potential probiotic strains of bacteria. Oligosaccharides from breast milk (HMOs) are a significant part of the composition of breast milk and represent a complex of digestible sugars.

We report a detailed study on the magnetic behaviors and magnetocaloric (MC) effect of a single crystal of lithium samarium tetraphosphate, LiSm(PO). The analyses of temperature-dependent magnetization data have revealed magnetic ordering established with decreasing temperature below , where is the minimum of a d/d curve and varies as a linear function of the applied field . The Curie temperature has been extrapolated from () data, as → 0, to be about 0.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of fucoidan isolated from on histamine-induced paw inflammation in rats, and on the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-10 in rats during systemic inflammation response. The levels of TNF-α in a model of acute peritonitis in rats were also investigated. The isolated crude fucoidan was identified as a sulfated xylogalactofucan with high, medium, and low molecular weight fractions and a content of fucose of 39.

Background and Objectives: Despite the importance of life satisfaction for health and well-being, there is a paucity of cross-national comparative studies in life satisfaction related to the family environment. The present research examined the pathways of life satisfaction association with perceived family support and other family environment variables among adolescents aged from 11 to 15 years in 45 countries. Materials and Methods: Samples from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) survey in 2017/2018 were analysed (n = 188,619).

One of the major challenges that smart agriculture is expected to address is the efficient use of water resources. The conservation and the efficient use of clean water is a long-term strategy worldwide. Modeling of smart agriculture systems is an important factor because the processes there are very slow and sometimes it takes a year or more for a full crop cycle.
