BACKGROUND Wearable smartphone-enabled cardiac monitoring devices can aid the diagnosis of asymptomatic tachycardia in neonates and infants. This report is of a rare case of left posterior fascicular ventricular tachycardia of Belhassen type detected in a neonate by 'smart sock' cardiac monitoring. CASE REPORT A premature baby boy at 37 weeks gestational age was discharged home after three days without complication, and was given 'smart socks' to wear.

This case report depicts the radiologic findings of a 51-year-old male presenting with Decompression Sickness. Decompression Sickness is diagnosed clinically, therefore radiologic imaging of this disease entity is limited. Our patient's history includes a scuba dive to depth of 110 feet with a descending time of 24 minutes and an ascending time of 8 minutes.

Study Objective: Establish complications and risk factors that are associated with blind tube insertion, evaluate the validity of correct placement verification methods, establish the rationales supporting its employment by anesthesia providers, and describe various deployment facilitators described in current literature.
Measurements: An exhaustive literature review of the databases Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane Collaboration, Scopus, and Google Scholar was performed applying the search terms "gastric tube", "complications", "decompression", "blind insertion", "perioperative", "intraoperative" in various order sequences. A five-year limit was applied to limit the number and timeliness of articles selected.

The American Nurses Association mandates nursing informaticists to evaluate clinical system implementation processes. When implementing electronic documentation systems, the use of an evaluation tool aids in the identification of end-user concerns and recommendations, which leads to process improvement. At two community hospitals in South Florida, a Clinical Information System Implementation Evaluation Scale was used to evaluate nursing perceptions during the implementation of a new pediatric electronic documentation system (eDocumentation).

The purpose of this evidence-based project was to determine the perceptions of anesthesia providers regarding the use of disposable laryngoscope blades. Frequency of use, ease of use, and complications encountered when using the disposable blade were evaluated before and after an in-service program designed to increase the use of disposable blades. Participants completed an anonymous questionnaire about their knowledge and practice regarding disposable laryngoscope blades.

A 61-year-old male with a history of severe heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) type II after aorto-femoral bypass surgery presented to the emergency department within 8 hours of development of substernal chest pain radiating to the left arm. Electrocardiogram (ECG) on arrival and at 3 hours showed no acute changes; cardiac enzymes revealed minimal MB elevation. Echocardiogram showed normal left ventricular systolic function with mild mitral and tricuspid regurgitation and trace aortic insufficiency.
