Skin cancer, a prevalent malignancy worldwide, poses significant health concerns owing to its increasing incidence. Autophagy, a natural cellular process, is a pivotal event in skin cancer and has advantageous and detrimental effects. This duality has prompted extensive investigations into medical interventions targeting autophagy modulation for their substantial therapeutic potential.

Background: Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) encompass a range of clinical conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and associated structures. Management approaches for TMDs vary and include both surgical and non-surgical interventions.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, medical records of 150 patients diagnosed with TMDs were reviewed.

Background: The process of post-extraction socket healing is critical for ensuring proper tissue repair and minimizing complications in dental practice. Suturing techniques play a pivotal role in this process, influencing wound closure, hemostasis, and overall healing.
Materials And Methods: This prospective clinical trial involved 80 participants who required single-tooth extractions.

Background: Smoking is a well-established risk factor for periodontitis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the oral cavity. While smoking cessation has been linked to improved overall health, its specific impact on periodontal health and gingival inflammation in individuals with periodontitis remains less explored.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study involving 200 smokers diagnosed with periodontitis.

Ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is one of the most prevalent TMJ disorders in patients who have experienced trauma. Due to the high risk of recurrence, gap arthroplasty without interpositional material has been gradually discontinued as a treatment for TMJ ankylosis. After arthroplasty surgery, various interposition materials have been used to prevent a recurrence.

Objective: Freeze-dried bovine bone scaffold (FDBB) or decellularized FDBB (dc-FDBB) was developed as an ideal scaffold with osteoinductive properties. This research aims to compare the osteoinductive properties marked by the expression of runt-related transcription factor-2 (RUNX2) and Osterix (OSX) and the osteogenic capacity of these scaffolds imbued with human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs).
Materials And Methods: This study was performed in five experimental groups: a negative control group (C-) of hUCMSCs with a normal growth medium, a positive control group (C + ) of hUCMSCs with an osteogenic medium, experimental group 1 (E1) with an FDBB conditioned medium (CM), and experimental group 2 (E2) with a dc-FDBB-CM, and a third experimental group (E3) consisting of a DBBM-CM.

Our previous study revealed that treatment with a combination of fibroblast growth factor‑2 and melatonin (MEL) synergistically augmented osteogenic activity and mineralization of MC3T3‑E1 mouse preosteoblast cells. Thus, the objective of the present study was to assess the effect of MEL on osteogenetic characteristics in human osteoblastic cells. Human jawbone‑derived osteoblastic (hOB) cells were isolated from mandibular bone fragments.

Aim: This analysis was aimed to determine the mesiodistal tooth width of human teeth and to compare with the measurements on plaster model in a Bangladeshi population.
Materials And Methods: The samples of 2,892 teeth of Bangladeshi subjects were collected for this purpose. This article presents mesiodistal tooth width measurements made on all types of teeth and compares with the mesiodistal tooth width measurements of dental cast collected from Bangladeshi subjects between the ages of 18 and 24 years.
