Introduction: Ixekizumab, an interleukin 17A (IL-17A) inhibitor, has demonstrated rapid and sustained improvement in the signs and symptoms in patients with active radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (r-axSpA) in global and Chinese populations. We studied the effect of ixekizumab on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) (including patient global, spinal pain, stiffness, and fatigue) and overall health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of ixekizumab in the phase 3 study in China.
Methods: In this Chinese phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, patients with r-axSpA were randomized (1:1) to receive ixekizumab 80 mg every 4 weeks (IXEQ4W; starting dose 160 mg) or placebo for 16 weeks.

Unlabelled: Long-chain -3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) supplementation has shown potential benefits in the prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD); however, the impact of omega-3 fatty acid levels on CHD risk remains a subject of debate. Here, we aimed to investigate the association between -3 PUFA levels and the risk of CHD, with particular reference to the subtypes of -3 PUFA.
Methods: Prospective studies and retrospective case-control studies analyzing -3 PUFA levels in CHD, published up to 30 July 2022, were selected.

Background: Ubiquitin/ubiquitin-like (Ub/UBL)-related genes have been reported to be associated with the survival of osteosarcoma patients but have not yet been systematically explored.
Methods: The prognostic value of Ub/UBL-related genes, immune cell infiltration and clinicopathological features of patients were explored by Cox and LASSO regression analyses. A prognostic model was established and then validated in the GSE21257 dataset.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of patients with colorectal mucinous adenocarcinoma (MAC) who benefit from postoperative chemotherapy (POCT) and to develop effective postoperative survival nomograms for predicting overall survival (OS) in colorectal MAC patients.
Methods: Data of colorectal MAC patients who underwent surgery from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database between 2010 and 2020 were collected. Patients were grouped based on POCT, and intergroup analysis was performed using 1:1 propensity score matching (PSM).

Background: Schwannomas are rare peripheral neural myelin sheath tumors that originate from Schwann cells. Of the different types of schwannomas, pelvic sciatic nerve schwannoma is extremely rare. Definite preoperative diagnosis of pelvic schwannomas is difficult, and surgical resection is the gold standard for its definite diagnosis and treatment.

Approximately 36% of patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) suffer from severe visual and motor disability (blindness or light perception or unable to walk) with abnormalities of whole-brain functional networks. However, it remains unclear how whole-brain functional networks and their dynamic properties are related to clinical disability in patients with NMOSD. Our study recruited 30 NMOSD patients (37.

The myosin heavy chain 9 (MYH9) gene encodes the heavy chain of non-muscle myosin IIA (NMIIA), which belongs to the myosin II subfamily of actin-based molecular motors. Previous studies have demonstrated that abnormal expression and mutations of MYH9 were correlated with MYH9-related diseases and tumors. Furthermore, earlier investigations identified MYH9 as a tumor suppressor.

N6 methyladenosine (m6A), methylation at the sixth N atom of adenosine, is the most common and abundant modification in mammalian mRNAs and non-coding RNAs. Increasing evidence shows that the alteration of m6A modification level could regulate tumour proliferation, metastasis, self-renewal, and immune infiltration by regulating the related expression of tumour genes. However, the role of m6A modification in colorectal cancer (CRC) drug resistance is unclear.

Objectives: This phase 2b, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of telitacicept, a novel fusion protein that neutralises signals of B lymphocyte stimulator and a proliferation-inducing ligand, in active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: Adult patients with active SLE (n=249) were recruited from 29 hospitals in China and randomised 1:1:1:1 to receive subcutaneous telitacicept at 80 mg (n=62), 160 mg (n=63), 240 mg (n=62) or placebo (n=62) once weekly in addition to standard therapy. The primary endpoint was the proportion of patients achieving an SLE Responder Index 4 (SRI-4) response at week 48.

Exosomes (EXOs) are considered natural nanoparticles which have been widely used as carriers for the treatment and diagnosis of various diseases. However, due to the non-specific uptake, the unmodified EXOs cannot effectively deliver the vector to the target site. In this study, we used pDisplay vector to engineer Glypican-3 (GPC3) single-chain scFv antibody to the exosome surface, and the effect of engineered exosomes on the proliferation and migration of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells was determined by a series of in vitro experiments as well as in vivo mouse xenograft model and PDX model.

Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), referred to as tertiary lymphoid organs and lymphoid tissue neogenesis, are aggregates of immune cells that occur in nonlymphoid tissues. In recent years, it has been found that TLSs within the tumor microenvironment have been associated with local adaptive immune immunity against cancer and favorable prognosis in several human solid tumors, including gynecological cancers. The issue of the prognosis of gynecological cancers, including endometrial, cervical, and ovarian cancer, is an enormous challenge that many clinical doctors and researchers are now facing.

This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to investigate the association between the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult males. The SII is a novel index derived from the counts of neutrophils, lymphocytes, and platelets in the peripheral blood and serves as a comprehensive indicator of the immune response and inflammation levels. The study included 3601 participants from the NHANES 2001-2004 cycle.

Background: Both-column fracture is a common type of acetabular fracture and is sometimes accompanied by a comminuted fracture of the quadrilateral area. Such fractures are difficult to anatomically reduce and securely fix. In this study, the authors compared the application value and mechanical properties of the Bespoke 3D-printed titanium alloy plates and Union Plate in acetabular both-column fractures.
