Introduction: Diagnosis in dermatology is primarily based on the assessment and description of the clinical appearance of the skin. The German medical literature focuses almost exclusively on white skin, so it is questionable whether this one-sided training is sufficient to do justice to all patients since the diversity of skin types increases.

Methods: Online survey among German dermatologists regarding training and experience in the diagnosis of dark skin, difficulties in recognizing dermatoses and the desire for training and further education in skin diseases of "skin of color".

Proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) is a fundamental redox process and has clear advantages in selectively activating challenging C-H bonds in many biological processes. Intrigued by this activation process, we aimed to develop a facile PCET process in cancer cells by modulating proton tunneling. The search for stable compounds containing an antiaromatic cyclic 4π system is a challenge for inventive chemists that can look back on a long history. Background: This paper reports on the outcomes of a proof-of-principle study for the Exposure Therapy Consortium, a global network of researchers and clinicians who work to improve the effectiveness and uptake of exposure therapy. The study aimed to test the feasibility of the consortium's big-team science approach and test the hypothesis that adding post-exposure processing focused on enhancing threat reappraisal would enhance the efficacy of a one-session large-group interoceptive exposure therapy protocol for reducing anxiety sensitivity.

Ebola virus (EBOV) transcription is essentially regulated via dynamic dephosphorylation of its viral transcription activator VP30 by the host phosphatase PP2A. The nucleoprotein NP has emerged as a third key player in the regulation of this process by recruiting both the regulatory subunit B56 of PP2A and its substrate VP30 to initiate VP30 dephosphorylation and hence viral transcription. Accurate navigation often requires the maintenance of a robust internal estimate of heading relative to external surroundings. We present a model for angular velocity integration in a desert locust heading circuit, applying concepts from early theoretical work on heading circuits in mammals to a novel biological context in insects. In contrast to similar models proposed for the fruit fly, this circuit model uses a single 360° heading direction representation and is updated by neuromodulatory angular velocity inputs.
