Paraspinal hematomas are common complications following spine surgery. In general, these hematomas are asymptomatic and resolve without issue. Unfortunately, there is a paucity of literature that describes the recurrence of these hematomas in a chronic setting.

Non-progressive CRMP-5-Associated Perifoveal Retinopathy in a Breast Cancer Patient: A Rare Paraneoplastic Phenomenon.

Paraneoplastic retinopathy (PR) is a rare autoimmune condition typically associated with progressive visual loss and is often linked to anti-recoverin antibodies. Paraneoplastic optic neuropathy (PON) is classically associated with collapsin response-mediator protein (CRMP-5). We present a unique case of non-progressive CRMP-5-associated perifoveal retinitis in a 79-year-old female with a history of breast carcinoma, who has maintained a stable visual acuity over an extended follow-up period of three years.

Lingual Necrosis in the Setting of Giant Cell Arteritis.

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a medium-to-large vessel vasculitis most commonly affecting the aortic arch and carotid branches. Lingual necrosis is a rare complication of GCA caused by lingual artery vasculitis due to ischemia. A delay in diagnosis can result in irreversible complications such as tongue amputation.

Gallbladder rupture, though rare, is a serious complication often arising from choledocholithiasis and subsequent interventions such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). In this case, the patient presented with acute choledocholithiasis and underwent ERCP with sphincterotomy and stone extraction, followed by placement of a fully covered metal stent in the common bile duct (CBD). While the use of covered stents is appropriate, it is important to note that these stents can obstruct the cystic duct orifice in patients with a gallbladder.

Lateral medullary syndrome (LMS), also known as Wallenberg syndrome, is a rare neurological condition most commonly resulting from occlusion of the posterior inferior cerebellar artery (PICA). This syndrome is characterized by a constellation of symptoms including vertigo, ataxia, sensory deficits, and cranial nerve abnormalities, which arise due to infarction of the lateral medulla. Background: Lung cancer brain metastases (LC-BrMs) are frequently associated with dismal mortality rates in patients with lung cancer; however, standard of care therapies for LC-BrMs are still limited in their efficacy. Ectopic Pregnancy in a Non-communicating Rudimentary Uterine Horn: A Case of Successful Medical Management and Literature Review.

A non-communicating rudimentary uterine horn is a Müllerian abnormality that manifests due to abnormal Müllerian duct development. This abnormality is associated with endometriosis, infertility, and pregnancy complications, including ectopic pregnancy, abnormal fetal presentation, abruption, increased fetal mortality and morbidity, preterm rupture of membranes, preterm birth, intrauterine growth restriction, and uterine rupture. If pregnancy does occur, there is a high risk of complications, most notably rupture of the rudimentary horn.
