Background: Complete mesocolon excision (CME) and central vascular ligation for right colonic cancers have been developed to improve oncological outcomes. However, it has been linked with a higher risk of morbidity and technical difficulties in operating near major vessels. This study investigated the impact of preoperative surgical planning utilizing CT reconstruction on surgical outcomes in right colectomy with CME.

Introduction: The best approach for total mesorectal excision (TME) remains controversial. Two recently described approaches are robotic TME (RTME) and transanal TME (TaTME). This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the outcomes between robotic surgery and TaTME in patients undergoing rectal cancer resection.

Background: Splenic flexure adenocarcinoma poses unique challenges in surgical management due to its location and lymphatic drainage. This study compared the efficacy and oncological safety of extended right hemicolectomy (ERC) and left colectomy (LC) for treating this condition.
Methods: This study followed the PRISMA and AMSTAR 2 guidelines.

Background: Managing postoperative pain effectively with an opioid-free regimen following laparoscopic surgery (LS) remains a significant challenge. Intraperitoneal instillation of ropivacaine has been explored for its potential to reduce acute postoperative pain, but its efficacy and safety are still under debate. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intraperitoneal instillation of ropivacaine for acute pain management following laparoscopic digestive surgery.

Postoperative ileus (PI) after colorectal surgery is a common surgical problem. This systematic review aimed to investigate the available data in the literature to reduce the PI in the area of colorectal surgery out of the enhanced recovery after surgery principles, referring to published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses, and to provide recommendations according to the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine. The authors conducted bibliographic research on 1 December 2022.

Background: There is no consensus regarding hernia sac management during laparoscopic hernia repair, and this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the postoperative outcomes of sac reduction (RS) and sac transection (TS) during laparoscopic mesh hernia repair.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis (PRISMA) 2020 and AMSTAR 2 (Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews) guidelines. We used the RevMan 5.

Background: A common method for diagnosing sarcopenia involves estimating the muscle mass by computed tomography (CT) via measurements of the cross-sectional muscle area (CSMA) of all muscles at the third lumbar vertebra (L3) level. Recently, single-muscle measurements of the psoas major muscle at L3 have emerged as a surrogate for sarcopenia detection, but its reliability and accuracy remain to be demonstrated.
Methods: This prospective cross-sectional study involved 29 healthcare establishments and recruited patients with metastatic cancers.

Background: Laparoscopic banded sleeve gastrectomy (LBSG) has been compared to laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in terms of anthropometric results and postoperative complications, which are controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of LBSG and LSG.
Methods: We performed a systematic review with meta-analysis according to preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis 2020 and assessing the methodological quality of systematic review 2 guidelines.

Background And Purpose: In addition to combined central and peripheral demyelination, other immune diseases could involve both the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS).
Methods: To identify immune-mediated diseases responsible for symptomatic combined central/peripheral nervous system involvement (ICCPs), we conducted a multicentric retrospective study and assessed clinical, electrophysiological, and radiological features of patients fulfilling our ICCP criteria.
Results: Thirty patients (20 males) were included and followed during a median of 79.

: Cannabis use and elevated fatty liver index (FLI≥ 60) (a biomarker of hepatic steatosis in the general population) have been identified as predictors of HCV-related and overall mortality, respectively, in HIV-HCV co-infected patients. However, the relationship between cannabis use and the risk of elevated FLI has never been explored.: Using five-year follow-up data from 997 HIV-HCV co-infected patients (ANRS CO13 HEPAVIH cohort), we analyzed the relationship between cannabis use and FLI using mixed-effects multivariable logistic (outcome: elevated FLI yes/no) and linear (outcome: continuous FLI) regression models.

Objectives: HIV/hepatitis C virus (HCV) co-infection leads to major complications, and noninvasive markers developed to stage liver fibrosis could be used as prognostic markers. We aimed to compare the performances of liver stiffness (LS), fibrosis-4 (FIB-4), and aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index (APRI) to predict liver-related events in HIV/HCV co-infected patients.
Patients And Methods: HIV/HCV co-infected patients from the ANRS CO13 HEPAVIH cohort were included if they had LS, FIB-4, and APRI measurements done in a window of 3 months.
