Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is overexpressed in numerous cancer cell types. Therapeutic antibodies and chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) against HER2 were developed to treat human tumors. The major limitation of anti-HER2 CAR-T lymphocyte therapy is attributable to the low HER2 expression in a wide range of normal tissues.

Commensal bacteriocin-producing are of interest for possible use as probiotics to selectively control the spread of pathogenic bacteria. Here, we evaluated the biosafety and efficacy of two new bacteriocin-producing strains, Q5 (VKM B-3706D) and C41 (VKM B-3707D), isolated from healthy farm animals. The genomes of both strains were sequenced, and genes responsible for the antagonistic and colonization abilities of each strain were identified.

The population of T lymphocytes producing IL-17 (Th17) plays a dual role during pregnancy and its activity is tightly controlled during this period. One of the factors involved in this process may be the pineal hormone melatonin, which can effectively regulate this T cell population. Here we have shown that exogenous melatonin in pharmacological concentrations is able to enhance the differentiation of Th17 cells of pregnant women in vitro.

Article Synopsis
  • The review focuses on reading and writing disorders in children, identifying them as part of neurodevelopmental disorders, a shift from the traditional view of "brain damage" to a more nuanced understanding in neuroscience.
  • It highlights the role of 21 genes linked to reading and writing skills, suggesting that dyslexia and dysgraphia have different genetic bases influenced by factors like ethnicity and language structure.
  • The findings indicate that genetic dysfunctions can lead to abnormal brain development, affecting linguistic processing and comprehension, which can aid in creating models for diagnosis and intervention strategies to enhance educational outcomes and address psychosocial impacts.
