The Causal Relationship between PCSK9 Inhibitors and Osteoporosis Based on Drug-Targeted Mendelian Combined Mediation Analysis.

Calcif Tissue Int

July 2024

Department of Laboratory Medicine, Peoples Hospital of Deyang City, No 173, the First Section of North Taishan Road, Deyang, 618000, China.

PCSK9 inhibitors have been shown to lower serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels and are considered integral in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. However, the potential association between PCSK9 inhibitors and osteoporosis is unclear now. In this study, drug-targeted mendelian randomization (MR) was utilized in conjunction with mediation analysis including bone mineral density (BMD), total 25-hydroxyvitamin D (T25(OH)D) levels and calcium supplementation to investigate the causal relationship between PCSK9 inhibitors and osteoporosis.

Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is known as autoimmune disease characterized by damage to endocrine glands, such as the salivary and lacrimal glands. This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for pSS using integrated bioinformatics analysis and explore the relationship between differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and immune infiltration. Three pSS datasets (GSE7451, GSE23117, and GSE40611) from the gene expression omnibus database were integrated.

The aim of this study was to explore the application of Mendelian randomization (MR) Egger and inverse variance weighted (IVW) in a causal effect on depression and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Instrumental variables (IVs) were determined using genome-wide association studies. The 2-sample MR analysis was conducted by MR Egger to test the causal effect between depression and AS.

Among the assortment of available dressings aimed at promoting wound healing, moist dressings have gained significant popularity because of their ability to create an optimal environment for wound recovery. This meta-analysis seeks to compare the effects of moist dressing versus gauze dressing on wound healing time. A comprehensive literature search was conducted, encompassing publications up until April 1, 2023, across multiple databases including PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Cochrane Library.

This study aimed to identify copper-induced death genes in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) and explore immune infiltration, risk and drug prediction models for salivary glands (SGs) damage. The 3 datasets, including GSE40611, GSE23117, and GSE7451 from the Gene Expression Omnibus database were downloaded. The datasets were processed using the affy in R (version 4.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop and assess a risk nomogram of bacterial infection in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) in southwest China.

Method: We established a prediction model based on a training dataset of 249 AAV patients. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (Lasso) was used to screen feature variables.

The Relationship Between Lateral Femoral Condyle Index and Noncontact Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture.

Int J Gen Med

February 2022

Department of Orthopaedics, Peoples' Hospital of Deyang City, Deyang, 618000, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between distal femoral morphology and noncontact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture and the differences between digital X-ray imaging systems (DR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to evaluate distal femoral morphology.

Methods: A retrospective case-control study was performed on 120 patients. Two age- and sex-matched cohorts (each n = 60) were analyzed: primary ACL ruptures and a control group consisting of isolated meniscal tears.

Rationale: Secondary immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is also known as acquired thrombocytopenic purpura, autoimmune disease is usually one of the important causes. There are few reports about treatment of refractory thrombocytopenic purpura in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We report a case of refractory ITP in which changes in platelet-related markers with therapeutic agents are worthy of the attention of clinicians.

Coronal subluxation of the tibiofemoral joint before and after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

BMC Musculoskelet Disord

October 2021

Department of Orthopaedics, Peoples' Hospital of Deyang City, No. 173, section 3, North Taishan Road, Deyang, 618000, Sichuan Province, China.

Background: Studies have shown that medial subluxation of the tibia occurs after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture. However, it is unclear whether anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) can correct tibial coronal subluxation.

Purpose: To determine whether the tibia is medially subluxated after ACL rupture, and whether ACLR can correct medial subluxation of the tibia.

Objective: To demonstrate whether procalcitonin (PCT) combined with calcitonin (CT) could provide additional diagnostic value to other clinically available rheumatoid arthritis- (RA-) related biomarkers in the early diagnosis of RA.

Method: The blood samples aseptically collected by venipuncture were centrifuged within 1 hour and frozen at -80°C. PCT and CT levels were measured using electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) in 260 subjects (48 patients with early RA, 34 patients with established RA, 37 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, 30 with osteoarthritis, 31 with gouty arthritis, and 80 healthy participants).
