Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a heterogeneous disease influenced by both genetic and environmental factors. Recent studies suggest that T2D subtypes may exhibit distinct gene expression profiles. In this study, we aimed to identify T2D cluster-specific miRNA expression signatures for the previously reported five clinical subtypes that characterize the underlying pathophysiology of long-standing T2D: severe insulin-resistant diabetes (SIRD), severe insulin-deficient diabetes (SIDD), mild age-related diabetes (MARD), mild obesity-related diabetes (MOD), and mild early-onset diabetes (MEOD).

This concept might lead to a reduction in adverse drug reactions, which place a heavy burden on individual patients' health and the economy of the healthcare system. The aim of this study was to present insights gained from the pharmacogenetics-based clustering of over 500 patients from the Croatian population.

Data were gathered using a self-assessment questionnaire, a brief clinical oral examination, and the Children's Fear Survey Schedule-Dental Subscale (CFSS-DS).

Given the recent surge and subsequent decline in the inflation rate in the United States, the prevalence of stress due to inflation may vary, as well as its relationship with anxiety and depression. Therefore, we investigated the prevalence of stress due to inflation and its association with anxiety and depression over time among working-age adults in the United States.

This letter discusses the recent study by Vahabi et al., which examined the role of preoperative cardiology consultations in geriatric patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. While the study highlights the limited impact of these consultations on treatment modifications and the associated delays in surgical intervention, this letter suggests areas for further exploration.

With the popularization of modern lifestyles, the spectrum of intestinal diseases has become increasingly diverse, presenting significant challenges in its management. Traditional pharmaceutical interventions have struggled to keep pace with these changes, leaving many patients refractory to conventional pharmaceutical treatments. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has emerged as a promising therapeutic approach for enterogenic diseases.

Introduction: Dental caries is the most prevalent chronic disease worldwide. It is a disease characterized by multifactorial etiology and slow evolution leading to the destruction of hard tooth tissue.

Purpose: Throughout this article we aim to review some important aspects related to dental caries and the main etiological factors in order to gain knowledge for oral health professionals in the treatment and prevention of caries.

Zr-doped mesoporous silica (Zr-MSS) for improved mechanical stability and biocompatibility of dental composite resins.

Mesoporous silica particles are of great interest in the field of dental composites as functional inorganic fillers due to their unique interconnected pores which can form micromechanical interlocking at the filler-resin interfaces. However, the degradation of mesoporous silica is fast in wet environments, leading to the poor mechanical stability of dental composites. Here, we synthesized Zr-doped mesoporous silica spheres (Zr-MSS) to increase the chemical stability of the particles.

Treatment of peri-implant mucositis using an Er:YAG laser or an ultrasonic device: a randomized, controlled clinical trial.

Purpose: The study assessed the clinical outcomes following treatment of peri-implant mucositis using Er:YAG laser or an ultrasonic device over six months. Patients' experience of pain, aesthetics, and Quality of life were further assessed.

Materials And Methods: In this study, subgingival plaques were collected from 10 periodontitis patients and 11 periodontally healthy volunteers, and their microbiota response to selective pressure of four antibiotics (amoxicillin, metronidazole, clindamycin, and tetracycline) were evaluated through 16S rRNA gene amplicon and metagenomic sequencing analysis.

Background: Medication reconciliation has been acknowledged as a key intervention against medication errors. More than half of the medication errors that happen during care transitions are caused by unjustified medication discrepancies and up to one-third of these mistakes may be harmful. The study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) of health care providers in on medication reconciliation process, pre and post educational intervention.

Comparing the efficacy of live vs. video instructional demonstrations in dental education: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to investigate the effects of live and video demonstrations of various dental procedures on undergraduate students' performance and satisfaction scores.

Materials And Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases, including MEDLINE (OVID), PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, supplemented by a manual search of bibliographic references from retrieved articles. The aim was to identify relevant randomized controlled trials and quasi-experimental trials that compared live demonstrations to video demonstrations in dental education, specifically focusing on undergraduate students' performance and satisfaction scores assessed using practical assessment rubrics and satisfaction questionnaires.

The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) is a widely used self-report measure of subjective well-being, but studies of its measurement invariance across a large number of nations remain limited. Here, we utilised the Body Image in Nature (BINS) dataset-with data collected between 2020 and 2022 -to assess measurement invariance of the SWLS across 65 nations, 40 languages, gender identities, and age groups (N = 56,968). All participants completed the SWLS under largely uniform conditions.

Methods: This cross-sectional survey-based study recruited a convenience sample of adult patients attending selected public and private dental facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Background: In the context of research priority-setting, participants express their research priorities and ideas in various forms, ranging from narratives to explicit topics or questions. However, the transition from these expressions to well-structured research topics or questions is not always straightforward. Challenges intensify when research priorities pertain to interventions or diagnostic accuracy, requiring the conversion of narratives into the Participant, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome (PICO) format.
