Background: The progression and severity of periodontitis (PD) are associated with the release of extracellular vesicles by periodontal tissue cells. However, the precise mechanisms through which exosome-related genes (ERGs) influence PD remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the role and potential mechanisms of key exosome-related genes in PD using transcriptome profiling at the single-cell level.

Background: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a worldwide challenging disease characterized by progressive elevation of pulmonary artery pressure. The proliferation, migration and phenotypic transformation of pulmonary smooth muscle cells are the key steps of pulmonary vascular remodeling. Quercetin (3,3', 4', 5, 6-pentahydroxyflavone, Que) is a natural flavonol compound that has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and other biological activities.

The pro-inflammatory/anti-inflammatory polarized phenotypes of macrophages (M1/M2) can be used to predict the success of implant integration. Hence, activating and inducing the transformation of immunocytes that promote tissue repair appears to be a highly promising strategy for facilitating osteo-anagenesis. In a previous study, titanium implants were coated with a graphene oxide-hydroxyapatite (GO-HA) nanocomposite via electrophoretic deposition, and the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) was found to be significantly enhanced when the GO content was 2wt%.

Background: Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy combined with fundoplication (LSGFD) can significantly control body weight and achieve effective anti-reflux effects. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between the alteration in Ghrelin levels and weight loss following SGFD, and to compare Ghrelin levels, weight loss and metabolic improvements between SG and SGFD, with the objective of contributing to the existing body of knowledge on SGFD technique in the management of patients with obesity and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 115 obese patients who underwent bariatric surgery between March 2023 and June 2023 at the Department of Minimally Invasivew Surgery, Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery, People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

To explore the causal relationship between obesity and hypothyroidism and identify risk factors and the predictive value of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) in obese patients using Mendelian randomization, this study employed five Mendelian randomization methods (MR Egger, Weighted Median, Inverse Variance Weighted, Simple Mode, and Weighted Mode) to analyze clinical data from 308 obese patients at the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, from January 2015 to June 2023. Patients were divided based on thyroid function tests into normal (n = 173) and SCH groups (n = 56). Comparative analyses, along with univariate and multivariate logistic regression, were conducted to identify risk factors for SCH in obese patients.

Background: Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has a high morbidity and mortality rate. The congestive heart failure, hypertension, age, diabetes, previous stroke/transient ischemic attack (2 points) (CHADS) and CHADS score with 2 points assigned for age >75 years-vascular disease (CHADS-VASc) scores are widely used for risk stratification management of non-valvular atrial fibrillation stroke and have high prognostic value in cardiovascular disease. This study aims to investigate the predictive value of the emergency CHADS and CHADS-VASc score on coronary artery lesions and prognosis in patients with acute STEMI.

GPR37 promotes the malignancy of lung adenocarcinoma via TGF-β/Smad pathway.

Open Med (Wars)

December 2020

Department of Respiration, Midong Branch of People's Hospital of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, 1302-17 Midong South Road, Urumqi, Xinjiang, People's Republic of China.

This paper aimed to research the function and in-depth mechanism of GPR37 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Herein, based on TCGA and Oncomine databases, we revealed that GPR37 was expressed at high levels in LUAD, and upregulation of GPR37 was related to the poor outcomes. Furthermore, biological function experiments were utilized to assess whether GPR37 impacts malignant phenotype of LUAD cells.

Immunohistochemical evaluation of stem cell markers and signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6) in solitary fibrous tumors.

Int J Clin Exp Pathol

September 2016

Department of Pathology and Key Laboratory of Xinjiang Endemic and Ethnic Diseases (Ministry of Education), Shihezi University School of Medicine Shihezi, Xinjiang, China.

Solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are fibroblastic, ubiquitous mesenchymal tumors. Although several SFT studies have been conducted, the cell of origin of SFT remains controversial and reliable diagnostic markers are needed for SFT identification for proper prognosis and therapeutics. To analyze the immunophenotype of SFT for the identification of specific diagnostic markers and the cell of origin of this tumor, we performed an immunohistochemical study of stem cell markers [aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 (ALDH1), CD29, CD44, CD133, and nestin] and signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6) in 18 cases of SFT.
