A deep-learning-based framework for identifying and localizing multiple abnormalities and assessing cardiomegaly in chest X-ray.

Accurate identification and localization of multiple abnormalities are crucial steps in the interpretation of chest X-rays (CXRs); however, the lack of a large CXR dataset with bounding boxes severely constrains accurate localization research based on deep learning. We created a large CXR dataset named CXR-AL14, containing 165,988 CXRs and 253,844 bounding boxes. On the basis of this dataset, a deep-learning-based framework was developed to identify and localize 14 common abnormalities and calculate the cardiothoracic ratio (CTR) simultaneously.

We performed a randomized sequential allocation dose-finding study to compare the effects of 10 mL/kg crystalloid and 6% hydroxyethyl starch (130/0.4) co-load on the ED90 of prophylactic norepinephrine infusion for preventing post-spinal anesthesia hypotension during cesarean delivery.

Our central objective was to determine the ED (effective dose) 90 and potency ratio of prophylactic norepinephrine and phenylephrine boluses for preventing postspinal anesthesia hypotension during cesarean section.

Methods: Patients scheduled for elective cesarean section (n = 80) were randomly allocated to receive prophylactic norepinephrine (NE) or phenylephrine (PE) boluses immediately after induction of spinal anesthesia.

Background: Walled-off pancreatic necrosis (WOPN) is a serious complication of acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) and may lead to disruption of the main pancreatic duct (MPD). Endoscopic passive transpapillary drainage (PTD) is an effective method for treating MPD disruptions. However, WOPN with complete MPD disruption is usually accompanied by disconnected pancreatic duct syndrome (DPDS), especially with infected necrosis.

Rationale: Optimal nutritional therapy for pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) has been debated; however, little is known about key points of pancreatin enteric-coated capsule administration, a critical component of the PD treatment regimen. Patients often report elevations in tablet platoon and steatorrhea, and steatorrhea may adversely affect nutritional therapy for PD. Herein, we report a case of individualized pharmaceutical care for a patient after PD with trypsin replacement nutritional therapy.

Objectives: This study intended to compare the safety and clinical efficacy between two treatments of uterine fibroids: laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU).

Material And Methods: Clinical data were collected from 587 uterine fibroid patients who were treated in The People's Hospital of Nanchuan, Chongqing from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019. Among the patients, 287 cases were treated with HIFU (observation group), and 300 cases were treated with LM (control group).

An updated HACOR score for predicting the failure of noninvasive ventilation: a multicenter prospective observational study.

Background: Heart rate, acidosis, consciousness, oxygenation, and respiratory rate (HACOR) have been used to predict noninvasive ventilation (NIV) failure. However, the HACOR score fails to consider baseline data. Here, we aimed to update the HACOR score to take into account baseline data and test its predictive power for NIV failure primarily after 1-2 h of NIV.

Introduction: Limertinib (ASK120067) is a newly developed third-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting both sensitizing EGFR and EGFR Thr790Met (T790M) mutations. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of limertinib in patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR T790M-mutated NSCLC.
