Background: The temporomandibular joint diseases have been associated with various predisposing factors. Joint spaces, articular eminence height and inclination, and the shapes of the condylar and glenoid fossa have all been shown to vary in temporomandibular joint diseases (TMD) patients. Advanced imaging techniques like cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) have been employed to estimate these parameters.

Neurotherapeutics

January 2023

Department of Neurology, Weihai Municipal Hospital, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University, Huancui District, No. 70 Heping Road, Shandong Province, 264200, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Previous studies on anterior circulation stroke indicate that endovascular treatment (EVT) may not benefit patients with poor collateral circulation, prompting a focus on basilar artery occlusion (BAO) in this study.
  • The BASILAR study analyzed 828 BAO patients, comparing outcomes between those receiving standard medical therapy (SMT) alone and those receiving SMT plus EVT based on their posterior circulation collateral score (PC-CS).
  • Results showed that good collateral circulation significantly improved the likelihood of favorable outcomes with EVT; patients with poor collaterals need early EVT within 6 hours, while those with moderate to good collaterals may have longer time windows for treatment.

Background: The development of biomaterials with the ability to promote skin wound healing is an important topic in the field of biomedical science. In this study, a topical curcumin (Cur) gel [Cur/hyaluronic acid (HA)] was prepared by combining curcumin-loaded PCL-b-PEG-b-PCL (PECE) nanomicelles (PCEC/Cur) and HA to effectively promote skin wound healing. Continuous drug release from PCEC/Cur can provide long-term protection and treatment of skin wounds.

The purpose of this work is to establish a new method using high-performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) with chemometrics analysis to determine the content of catechin, isoquercetin, astragalin, phloridzin, trilobatin, and phloretin for one flavanol and five flavonoids, filter out the key compounds, and evaluate the quality of 26 batches of tender leaves and flower spikes of Rehd. (LP) from ten areas in China. The result showed that the HPLC-DAD method had excellent performance for accurate quantification analysis.
