Superficial Acral fibroma (SAF), also known as osteofibroma, is a rare fibromatous tumor primarily involving superficial soft tissues. Clinically, SAF typically manifests as a slow-growing, solitary, well-defined nodule or mass. Although these lesions are generally asymptomatic, some cases may present with associated pain, often linked to a history of trauma.

Research hotspots and frontiers in acral melanoma: A bibliometric analysis from 1999 to 2023.

Background: Acral melanoma (AM), an aggressive subtype of melanoma with poor prognosis, has been increasingly studied. The present study aims to discuss the current status, hotspots and future directions of AM studies through visualized analysis with bibliometrics and knowledge graph.

Method: Publications related to acral melanoma from January 1999 to May 2023 were searched and retrieved from the Web of Science.

[Analysis of public health risks associated with pathogenic fungi in China].

At present, the public health risks caused by pathogenic fungi are greater in China and have attracted great attention from disease control departments. Due to the difficulty in diagnosing fungal infections, the public health risk of pathogenic fungi is currently hidden in the unexplained pneumonia/encephalitis/fever syndrome and is not effectively appreciated. From the public health perspective, the mainly focused fungal pathogens include highly pathogenic fungi (including dimorphic fungi and dematiaceous fungi), pathogenic fungi that cause regional aggregation infections, and drug-resistant pathogenic fungi.

[Effect of recombinant human thrombin for hemostasis in liver resection: a randomized controlled phase Ⅲ clinical trial].

To evaluate the hemostatic efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of recombinant human thrombin in the treatment of liver wounds that still ooze after conventional surgical hemostasis. A multicenter, stratified randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase Ⅲ trial with a planned enrollment of 510 subjects at 33 centers, with a 2∶1 randomization to the thrombin group versus the placebo group. An interim analysis will be conducted after approximately 70% of the subjects have completed the observation period.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the HIV-1 subtype distribution and HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) in patients with ART failure from 2014 to 2020 in Hainan, China.

Methods: A 7-year cross-sectional study was conducted among HIV/AIDS patients with ART failure in Hainan. We used online subtyping tools and the maximum likelihood phylogenetic tree to confirm the HIV subtypes with sequences.

A 53-year-old male presented to the clinic for "bilateral temporal dark yellow plaques with pruritus for 8 years." The patient had bilateral temporal dark yellow plaques without obvious inducement 8 years ago and did not see doctors at that time. Five years ago, bilateral temporal skin lesions gradually increased and were accompanied by severe itching.

Antiviral efficacy of RAY1216 monotherapy and combination therapy with ritonavir in patients with COVID-19: a phase 2, single centre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of RAY1216, a novel inhibitor of 3-chymotrypsin-like cysteine protease (3CLpro), in adults with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Methods: This phase 2, single centre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial included hospitalised patients between August 14, 2022, and September 26, 2022, in Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) in China with no severe symptoms if they had laboratory-confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection for not more than 120 h (5 days) and a real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) cycle threshold (Ct) value of ≤30 for both the open reading frames 1 ab (ORF1ab) and nucleocapsid (N) genes within 72 h before randomisation. Half of the participants ( = 30) were randomly assigned (2:1) to receive either RAY1216 or a matched placebo three times a day (TID) for 5 days (15 doses in total), while the other half received RAY1216 plus ritonavir (RAY1216 plus RTV) or a matched placebo every 12 h for 5 days (10 doses in total).

A Case of Secondary Syphilis with the Extragenital Chancre of the Lips and Tongue.

A 18-year-old male presented with ulcers of lips and tongue and erythema of trunk of more than a month duration. Laboratory examinations for syphilis showed that TRUST (+) 1:32, TPPA (+), and HIV antibodies were negative. Combined with his case history and signs, he was diagnosed with secondary syphilis with chancre of lips and tongue and was cured by injecting benzathine penicillin 2.

A Case of Coma Bullae Associated with Brachioradial Artery.

We present the first case of coma bullae observed in a 67-year-old woman due to pressure and ischemia associated with brachioradial artery. A skin biopsy taken from the ulcer border revealed extensive loss of the epidermis, fibrosis of dermis, mild infiltration by lymphocytes and neutrophils, and necrosis of the focal eccrine ducts. CT angiography of the right upper limb showed a high origin of the radial artery, meanwhile both high originating radial artery and the anastomoses were tortuous and were of relatively small caliber.

Successful Treatment of Eruptive Pruritic Papular Porokeratosis in the Elderly with Tofacitinib: A Case Report.

Eruptive pruritic papular porokeratosis (EPPP) is a rare subtype of porokeratosis that presents as an acute exacerbation of an annular papule with a distinct peripheral hyperkeratotic ridge border and severe pruritus. EPPP is mainly reported in elderly East Asian men. Its etiology and pathogenesis are unknown.

Pseudo-Kaposi's Sarcoma: A Rare Case and Review.

Our report concerns a 72-year-old female patient who presented with nodular ulcers on her right lower extremity and foot for a duration of 5 months. Based on the results of a dermatological examination, histopathological examination of the lesions, and immunohistochemical findings, we were able to diagnose the patient with Mari-type pseudocaposi sarcoma. Further research allowed us to clarify the distinction between this type of sarcoma and Kaposi's sarcoma, which will be crucial in devising an effective treatment plan for the patient as we continue to monitor her progress during clinical supervision.
