The risk factors for nonunion following anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) are controversial. The aim of the study is to investigate the risk factors for nonunion in cervical spondylotic cases after ACDF.

Lysine Acetyltransferase 2B (KAT2B) functions pivotally in regulating chromatin organization as well as function, and is a key regulator of signal transduction during development of many diseases, like tumors. This research intends to exploit expression, clinical significance as well as how KAT2B functions in cervical cancer. Our study showed that the KAT2B expression in cervical carcinoma tissues was inferior to that in normal tissues; decreased KAT2B expression was signally related to increased T staging, lymph node metastasis together with tissue differentiation; patients with high KAT2B expression had better prognosis.

Effects of leaf tablets on the pharmacokinetics of atovastatin in rats.

Ginkgo leaf tablets (GLT), an effective traditional Chinese multi-herbal formula, are often combined with atorvastatin calcium (AC) for treating coronary heart disease in clinic. This study investigated the effects of GLT on the pharmacokinetics of AC and the potential mechanism. The pharmacokinetics of AC (oral administered at a dose of 1 mg/kg) with or without pre-treatment of GLT (oral administered at a dose of 80 mg/kg/day for 10 days) were investigated in male Sprague-Dawley rats.

Many studies have demonstrated that miRNAs have influence on tumorigenesis and progression of human cancers, including invasion and migration. Thus, the role of miR-205/ZEB1 axis for the migration and invasion of prostate cancer cells was explored in the present study. The miR-205-5p and zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) mRNA expression levels were observed in prostate cancer tissues or cell lines via reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), and the protein level of ZEB1 was measured by western blotting.
