Background: Bladder cancer (BCa) ranks among the predominant malignancies affecting the urinary system. Cisplatin (CDDP) remains a cornerstone therapeutic agent for BCa management. Recent insights suggest pivotal roles of circular RNA (circRNA) and N-methyladenosine (m6A) in modulating CDDP resistance in BCa, emphasizing the importance of elucidating these pathways to optimize cisplatin-based treatments.

Background: To explore the value of serum miR-139-3p expression level in predicting postoperative survival of colon cancer patients.

Methods: We selected 158 cases enrolled in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019. Using real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR, the expression extents of serum miR-139-3p among patients suffering from colon cancer were detected.

Article Synopsis
  • Adriamycin (ADR) is an effective chemotherapy drug but poses a risk of heart damage, making it essential to understand how it affects heart cells (cardiomyocytes).
  • Research used H9C2 cell models to examine the impact of inhibiting miR-218 and Serp1 on cell activity and apoptosis in response to ADR using various laboratory techniques.
  • Findings indicate that inhibiting miR-218 protects H9C2 cells from ADR-induced damage, while suppressing Serp1 worsens cell health, revealing that miR-218 promotes heart cell apoptosis via the Serp1/p38 MAPK/caspase-3 signaling pathway.

Background: To investigate the expression of serum miR-185 and miR-424 in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and their predictive value. A total of 142 patients with AIS and 50 healthy controls were enrolled.

Methods: According to the modified Rankin scale (mRS) score, AIS patients were divided into the good prognosis group and the poor prognosis group.

Colon cancer has a poor prognosis due to a lack of biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis. The present study analyzed serum miR-192-5p expression levels in colon cancer patients and their correlations with clinicopathologic features. Relative mRNA expression was assessed by real-time fluorescence-based quantitative PCR in the serum of 164 colon cancer patients and 60 healthy controls.

Objective: To study the expression and diagnostic value of plasma miR-145 and miR-183 in children with lupus nephritis (LN).

Methods: A total of 92 children with LN who were admitted from January 2016 to May 2019 were enrolled as the LN group, among whom 17 had type II LN, 15 had type III LN, 36 had type IV LN, 18 had type V LN, and 6 had type VI LN. Forty healthy children who underwent physical examination were enrolled as the healthy control group.
